Every surfer remembers his very first surfboard for life, much like you remember your first dating experience! It marks your entry into a new universe made of powerful sensations in magnificent settings. We give you some tips for choosing the one that will accompany you on this new journey!

Two large families stand out with rigid boards and inflatable boards.
Inflatable boards
An inflatable surfboard has many advantages starting with its ease of transport. It simply fits in a backpack. A massive advantage compared to a rigid board, especially when traveling. On the water, its glide is really cool and the take off is earlier than on a rigid board, thanks in particular to its volume. It is more resistant to hits, and it is less dangerous if you are the one being hit by the board 😉 Finally, its price is also a big edge.
Clearly the first choice if you need a practical and easy board for surfing small waves. You can have fun very quickly and the whole family can get involved.

Rigid boards
Contrary to popular belief, a rigid board is not more difficult than an inflatable one. With the exception of very small waves where the volume of an inflatable surfboard helps you with your take off, the efficiency of a rigid board gives you the upper hand for progression. If transport is not a concern for you, a rigid board offers a better outlook for evolution. A model with the right dimensions and in the right shape will be as effective as an inflatable board for beginners.
