We have launched a range of 4 Boards for the Wing Foil. Here are some explanations to consider when making your choice.
The most Versatile : the Mob.
You want a Board to do all sports (SUP, SUPfoil and
Wing Foil). It’s ideal.
It’s really going to be the Board that will make the most of a weekend in average conditions. It offers a lot of performance because of its shape, but also because of the multiple possible configurations.
However, it is not the easiest way to start in Wing.
Smoothness/Facility : Zuma.
In
Wing foil, it’s really the easiest Board. Its glide is totally smooth. We have volume for the take off. It offers more length so as not to struggle in balance and getting speed before flight. Its relatively thin nose gives it a very fluid glide, but as it is quite long it will also erase your mistakes by giving a slight inertia to the movements of the Board. Finally, its very large tail simplifies everything.
The queen of beginnings for a lightning-fast progression.
The Compact: the Flint.
Its rectangular outline maximizes the effects of the surface. Ultra stable for its length, it is also a champion of the take-off. Shorter than a Zuma, it is much more lively and close to the ultimate performance that can be sought in Wing. Its balance is based on the outline, and its performance comes from a contained width and a rather lean volume for each size.
High level performance without the hassle.
The Ultimate : the Lemon.
When you think of Wing, you must visualise the Lemon as the light at the end of the tunnel. This Board is a total achievement. Ultra compact, voluminous, pinched tips, you have under your feet what works best in Wing on a non sinking Board. Certainly a 25L Board will give more performance, but also give you much more hassle. And when compared, the Lemon takes on the challenge with flying colours thanks to its crazy range of use.
The ultra-compact reference.
For Whom?
It is always tricky to define standardised profiles, because it is very simplistic, but we will still try and take the risk :
Mob : means you are not looking for performance but an economic and very useful multitasking tool.
Zuma : for Beginners and people who aren’t looking for tricks and other complicated stuff.
Flint : accessible performance, for demanding people but with a calmer sporting profile than the pro. (40 and over, lovers of life, etc…)
Lemon : for the pro and the one who needs these performances.
Which Foil?
You can mount everything on everything but there are clearly some optimal matches :
Mob : Allvator SurfFoil with a mast from 65cm to 90cm according to your level and classic front wings from L to XXL according to your weight.
Zuma : Allvator Surfoil with a mast from 80cm or 90cm and Pro M, L and XL wings, and, ideally, a Monobloc Pro Carbon Mast for maximum performance.
Lemon : Pro Monobloc Carbon Mast for maximum efficiency and Pro M, L and XL front wings.
Which Wing?
All Wings work with all Boards. But the more we raise the performance potential of the Board, the more we will look for a powerful Wing to make the most of it. That’s why our range is made to meet these needs.
Transport :
This is a marginal argument, but in the end it is very important. Frankly a 1.5m Board + two Wings + a Foil, that fits into a golf bag, is really ideal and sexy. And in use it is a thousand times more pleasant to live with, and much easier to be carrying up and down the beach.
Which Techno?
Our range is divided into two technologies :
The FSP 2X : the Mob and Zuma are really very strong. This Full Biaxial Sandwich Technology offers the highest resistance to stress, and we take up the challenge of offering them at low prices.

The FSP Pro : also in Full Sandwich, but also in Full Carbon, the Flint and Lemon have the best possible performance with the unbeatable dynamics of Carbon.
The technologies fit into the programs and audiences of our Boards.
Which settings?
Our Boards are adjusted so that everything is perfect with a central adjustment of the Foil in the boxes and straps in their inserts.
However, you may need to adjust these settings according to your stance. Between my template and that of the Marine’s, we, by necessity, have different settings.
Note : the Lemon being very compact, the position of the Foil in the box is at the rear third. I did not need to move the boxes too far back to start the kick tail at its optimum rocker point.
Which Uses?
You can do everything with a Wing : beginner, freeride, surf, downwind, jumps, freestyle, race… But some Boards will do it better than others.
Mob : ideal for beginners, freeride.
Zuma : ideal for beginners, freeride, surfing, downwind
Flint : ideal for freeriding, surfing, downwind, jumps, freestyle
Lemon : ideal for surfing, downwind, jumps, freestyle, race
Now you know everything about my shapes. All that remains is that you know how to identify your own desires and make the right choice for you.
Remember that by buying directly from GONG you are buying without the margins of traditional trade. Your Board will not lose a lot in value after your drive it off the lot. And on the day of resale you won’t lose much. So don’t make the mistake of taking the ideal Board for ten years from now. Take the Board you need for right now. Progress as quickly as possible and with as much pleasure as possible. And if you need to change it to keep evolving, there’s no need to worry about reselling it with our Boards.
Have fun.

Manu
L’atelier Gong le propose pour un tarif très raisonnable. Mais sur toutes les boards ça serait plus 1kg de + pour peu d’utilisateurs..
