Feedback from Loïc on our GONG Galaxy page who was able to test the Ypra S in size XL during a Wing foil session.

“Hello, I had a 2 hours sesh this weekend with the Ypra XLS, Veloce H44 stab, Neutra 4.5 and Lemon 105l. I weigh 100kg ? . About the conditions, an average wind of 15 knots with gusts up to 23 knots (dropping wind according to obsservations). Air temperature : 4°C ?❄️☃️.

“It’s super maneuverable.”

I have always sailed with XL front wings (Fluid XL, Veloce XL-T, Veloce XL-H…). The Veloce XL-H was great but I lost a lot on takeoff, I clearly don’t have the physical condition. I was often forced to overpower… I ordered the Ypra XLS hoping to make it my all-purpose front wing, and it looks promising! It’s really fast, it doesn’t whistle, it’s super maneuverable, it’s very buoyant and the tips can come out without any problem! At 100kg, I had no difficulty getting it off the ground! I had a good front foot feeling with a great overall balance, something that I lacked on the Veloce XL-H with which I felt as if it wanted to dive a little.

We clearly don’t feel like we’re on a high aspect beacuse it seems so easy!

It reminded me of the ease of the Fluid XL, and I didn’t have the need to overpower. On the other hand, be careful the front wing is super sharp! The trailing edge is a razor and the tips get worse with the sand (I recommend leaving the protections until the last moment). In short, a good feeling! For big guys, you can go for it, it’s easy but be careful, it’s not a beginner’s front wing either…”
