Transition into a new category for Nathan with the Ypra Surf-Freestyle which he was able to test in fun conditions at home.

Test conditions
“A little feedback about my new Ypra Surf-Freestyle front wing M in 700. I was able to test it on a good south/east weekend at home with waves and 15/25 knots in 4.5 Droid UPE, in 30/40 knots in Neutra 3.5 and on flat conditions with 10/20 knots several times in 4.5 Droid UPE. I associated it with my Freestyle 37 stab, HM85 mast, Lethal 4’5.”
Taking off in Ypra Surf-Freestyle
“I used to sail with a Curve M-H, an all-purpose wing (surf foil, wing, etc.). A very lifty and easy wing. So I was expecting a very unstable foil that would be difficult to get off the ground. I hesitated quite a bit between the Surf-Freestyle L or M. And very happy to have taken the M. I don’t find it complicated to take off, very surprised!”
Sailing behaviour
“I was expecting a very unstable foil when sailing, but not at all, it’s locked in, it doesn’t move, in waves it’s fluid and it turns short. For jumps we have a hell of a pop! I find that the wing forgives mistakes in waves, if you get taken out, you can recover easily. This front wing corresponds to my style of navigation, I like to turn quite short in waves, it’s great! But you still have to be reactive!”The low end of the Ypra Surf-Freestyle
“In terms of the lower range I find it quite correct too, you don’t have to go all out when exiting the jibe. I think that for people who want to sail peacefully while having good rail to rail surfing, the Ypra Surf must be nice too!!! So don’t hesitate to take a smaller foil, for my part I really like the wing. For surf foiling and light wing I keep my Curve M-H. And thank you Romain Jean for the photos for the Xth time.”
