Pascal shares his experience riding two different setups, having tested his new Ypra Slalom V3 successively in wing foil and kite foil.

The Ypra Slalom in Wing Foil
“After a few sessions on the Ypra Slalom V3 S with its matching stabilizer.
Rider weight: 89 kg.
In wing: This foil is pretty fast — the more speed you pick up, the more locked-in it feels, so there’s no issue with stability on long runs. During foot switches, you can feel the short fuselage, but transitions are still manageable. My average speed is significantly higher than with my previous foils.
That said, it’s clearly not designed for freefly; it has less glide than models like the Veloce or Fluid.
The overall stiffness is really impressive.”
The Ypra Slalom in Kite Foil
“In kite foil: I was blown away by how stable it is in a straight line — even more so than in wing. It feels like you can push hard while sitting in an armchair. Foot switches are super smooth.
Not much more to say for now — I’ll need a few more sessions to check my average and top speeds.”
GPS Data Added
“Edit with GPS watch: Tested the Ypra V3 S in kite mode this afternoon. The foil feels super pleasant, stable, and trustworthy. I averaged 34 km/h for the session and hit a Vmax of 42 km/h in winds between 5 and 9 knots!
I think I can go faster, but I also feel like my freeride foil kite is reaching its top-end speed.”
