First session on the Veloce V3 Atmo LW XXL

“I received the foil last night. Setup: Atmo Veloce LW XXL, Atmo Hyper Trail XL stab, HM77*15 V3 mast, Long Carbon fuselage, NOTW 8’3 and 100% Mix 7’ fixed paddle, at 105 kg dry.

Today I was planning a flat start session, but a light breeze picked up, around 6 to 9 kts, so I thought it was a shame it wouldn’t be glassy.

I went to check out the spot and could just make out some very light windswell bumps.

So I improvised a downwind.

Result: the lightest downwind of my life!”

“I didn’t get it straight away, probably because I also had to adapt to the new Hyper Trail Atmo stab. It was my first time using such a thin stab. You need to know how to get it going, at low speed the foil tended to pitch nose-down.

The bumps were almost nonexistent, but once up to cruising speed, the slightest bit of energy was enough to keep flying.

Over 2 km of downwind, I had 4 starts. On the first 3, it was difficult to find the rhythm, but on the last one I found it and it was incredible.

I can’t wait to do a full downwind in similar conditions.
