“Sharing this Veloce HDW S session today because I couldn't find much info when looking for it before… and yet!...

Gear setup:

Cruzader 2023 6'0

HM85 v2 mast

Veloce v3 HDW S front wing

Veloce v3 M stabilizer

Neutra 4.5 (2023)

Rider: 75kg, 2 years riding experience

Conditions:

15-30 knots east wind (side-off on this spot)

Long-period 1.5m swell, interspersed with wind-generated bumps.”

Why go for the Veloce HDW?

“Why?

I needed a front wing with enough speed to stay on the offshore swell. My go-to foil is the Veloce V3 M, but the HDW’s profile—backed by a solid GONG description in this size—caught my eye. Had to give it a shot.

First test:

Takeoff is super easy—easier than the Ypra-S M v2 I had before switching to the v3. Once up, the HDW delivers insane glide and flow. There’s a clear difference between the standard Veloce and the HDW version. The thin tips make for great turns—not quite as tight as the Ypra-S M v2, but in exchange, it offers better stability and acceleration through bumps. Also, breaching the tips isn’t an issue at all—everything stays locked in without cavitation (which isn’t entirely true for the Veloce V3 M, though it’s made huge progress in that area compared to the V2)."

High-speed downwinds

“I pushed into high-speed downwinds, and the wing barely lost any speed while still allowing for full maneuverability. In these conditions, I completely shattered my free-fly time. At one point, I had to stop just to avoid drifting too far from my riding zone… unreal!

I even found myself saying (alone out in the swell): ‘Guenolé, what have you made this time?!’ Incredible!”
