I weigh 80 kg and am quite athletic. I’ve been practicing pump foiingl for 10 months with about sixty sessions. It’s a real complement to winging and foiling, it also works the cardio and leg muscles. By the end of my sessions, I’m completely done!
My takeoffs are only done with a dead start.
I learned on the Sirus. After seven sessions, I could pump for about 30 seconds.
I bought the Trail after 40 sessions on the Sirus to try out the wing, work on my technique, and also because my 10-year-old son was starting to want to pump.”
The Ease of the Trail
“The Trail: it’s incredibly easy. In no time, you can master it, and it quickly lets you experience the joys of pumping. It’s forgiving and very user-friendly. It also allows you to push yourself, work on harder starts and really refine your technique.
It glides well, though it’s not as much of a glide machine as the Sirus, you can definitely feel the difference.
The profile is reassuring and forgiving, making it perfect for beginners, while experts will still find it an ideal wing to practice new starts, new stabilizers, or even just for cardio sessions!”
The glide of the Sirus
“The Sirus: it’s harder to handle, especially for beginners. It’s not really a beginner’s wing. But with persistence and determination, even a beginner can make it work.
It offers a very different glide dynamic. The profile lifts and glides beautifully. Pump times are longer, you stay higher and flying longer.
It clearly puts more pressure on the front foot during takeoff.
Once mastered, the Sirus allows you to go further.
I’ve also had the chance to test the Ultra Trail, it takes glide performance to a new level, comparable in size to the Sirus.
I’m not talking about the stabilizers on purpose, they completely change the front wing’s behavior.
In conclusion, the range of gear offered by the GONG Galaxy team really makes it possible to find the perfect wing for every level.”
