FEEDBACK: THE KUBE 3'11 IN FRESH WATER !!!
The Kube is the first Wing board 100% dedicated to freestyle. Our ambassador Nicolas Leforestier tested its skills in the not challenging wind conditions of an inland spot.

“Kube 3’11 85L first test.

Let’s quickly set the scene:

me: 47 years old, 88 kg, intermediate level in wing (jibes of all kinds, tacks, 360, jumps and a few rotating jumps, a little surf when I’m not too lazy to go all the way to the sea)

my spots: mainly inland lakes with very irregular winds

– gear before the Kube: Lemon 5’0, Hipe 4’11 and Catch 4’6

So there you have it, I received the board this morning, ahead of schedule! Thank you GONG … a little bit of wind on the radar therefore I had to go for a direct test … towards the lake of La Ramée near Toulouse … the forecast was good but on arrival nothing at all, a few asthmatic gusts, the conditions that would have made me use the 9m Superpower in 2020… so perfect in 2021 for a 7.5 Superpower session. By the way, it allowed me to compare the wingspan of the Superpower 7.5, which is smaller than that of a 2020 Pulse 5m!

So I went on the water, with a little trepidation, asking myself if I hadn’t done something stupid to buy a board this small, 3’11 is quiet tiny! I get on my knees and I have a first good surprise in terms of stability, compared to the Lemon 5’0, I found almost the same marks, no lateral instability. The nose is short so it can swing from back to front but nothing surprising. The distribution of the volume is rather on the back end so that gives a whole which does not move too much.

Same feeling of stability once standing before flying, I even jibed flat without falling, although I found the exercise complicated on the Lemon or the HIPE.

In flight, this is where the magic happens, compact, light and responsive to pumping, the touches are absorbed by the very pronounced V-shaped hull … when landing a jump I expected to nose dive but I was fine!

Small nice detail … the board is 7cm (head) thicker than a Lemon at the rail level, which means that we fly higher! With the 90 cm aluminum I had the sensations of 100cm carbon … I think the 85 carbon will be magical with it!

I am already conquered by my little tiny board! Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow … Thank you Patrice Guénolé”
