FEEDBACK: THE ACCESSIBILITY OF THE MINT !!!

When developing the Mint we had one idea in mind: to offer a very efficient board for surfing and freestyle with just the volume you need to feel comfortable.

The first few feedbacks on the Mint show us the successful conversion of this idea. One example is Rémi’s feedback, who switched to the Mint 4’10 after learning on the Zuma.

“Hello everyone, I just tried my new Mint 4’10, which I received yesterday at the shop. First test this morning in La Baule: I had a blast! Well done GONG!

FYI, before buying it I was hesitant to go down in size after 6 months on my Zuma 6’6. In SUP foil I didn’t see myself (and still can’t see myself) on a smaller one, it’s already difficult enough as it is! But in Wingfoiling I found the Zuma a bit cumbersome. I hesitated though because I didn’t want to struggle with a very unstable board when getting on it, especially in choppy water. I finally went for the Mint 4’10 with its 95 liters for my 80 kg.

First test this morning (with the XL Curve and the stab kite 40), and I was completely amazed to have such a small and so … easy board. I freaked out a little in the first 15 minutes by putting myself on top and falling in front, then behind, and then once I had a feel for it, I could start, and it flies directly above the water…

The wind drops a bit, I’m struggling a bit more, because I can’t slide it like the Zuma before starting. The wind picks up a bit, and with a few pumps I’m flying again. From this point on I was going back and forth in the small waves. It was just amazing how easy it was compared to the Zuma to catch the waves, to get to position yourself perfectly, to keep the power of the wave, to turn and it’s just 10 times less tiring to pump, all in lightness. Even jibing and changing the feet is easy. And of course all of this with a tiny skate under your feet (I dare not imagine the smaller boards ???? !!!). In fact, the feeling is like being directly on the foil, without a board!

In summary, of course it’s more sporty, you have to be more precise and fast than with the Zuma but I am amazed that it‘s also accessible to start with 4’10 under your feet.

Without counting of course the beauty of the board (splendid double concave), the weight at 5.4 kg (instead of 5.8 as announced), the small size to carry it to the water, or in the car: I was even able to place it on the rear deck of my car in width.

Frankly, there’s nothing to think about: go for it guys!!!!“
