FEEDBACK: PROGRESSION IN SURF FOIL !!!

The images of surf foil riders flying on waves for hundreds of meters make more than one dream ;). Guillaume was one of them until he took the plunge last year by initiating himself to surf foiling. His latest feedback on GONG Galaxy’s Facebook group illustrates that surf foiling is accessible to everyone, provided they have some surfing skills for positioning, paddling and take-offs. In just 8 months and with a lot of training he achieved distances he probably never imagined when he first started out.

“After 3 weeks of discovering dockstart and daily training, the return to the water was welcome. Today I can measure the results. It’s been 8 months since I rode a surf foil for the first time. In this session today I managed to link 7 waves with one take-off by going to look for them very far behind the line-up. I did more than 800m of surfing (450m max is my record in pure dockstart pumping).
The sessions are done away from the crowds on peaks that no surfer would want, just between friends. I multiplied my number of days in the water and have a new look at the Guru’s forecast. At the same time, much less frustration on the surf sessions without a foil, I surf less often but I surf better: I select better conditions and on days with less crowds + my stance which has been severely refined with the practice of the foil and a “cat” balance that allowed me to relaunch myself in new things in surfing where I had the impression of reaching a ceiling for some time.
The gear for the session: the new Matata EPS 4’2 “, the 70 V1 carbon mast, the Curve XLT and the 47 Veloce stab.
We say thank you to who? Thank you Patrice Guénolé and GONG! “
