Feedback from our GONG ambassador in Savoie, Jean-Hugues, who chose the Mob Cool 7’11 for his 93kg and advanced SUP experience.

“I changed my Mob2Taste 8’3 140L blue and red (for reference and comparisons to follow) by this Mob FSP 2X Cool 7’11 140L.

Strolling on the lake, its 4 inches less are not felt at all. It doesn’t feel like you’re pushing harder on the paddle at all. It looks much shorter visually but that’s just an impression.

Where it is interesting is in the waves: The buoyancy is exactly the same (yes, 140 liters for both) and the distribution of volumes allows to wait comfortably in the line-up. We pass the chop easily and the balance in rough seas is easily found.

On the very small waves, it feels like being on a skateboard.

It takes off easily. It’s quite amazing but it was promised in its specifications so you can have fun placing your children there and launching them into small waves with ease.

On the big ones (I had sessions in 2 meter waves), I found the sensations of my previous Mob2Taste with, in addition, increased playability in turns and rail to rail. It’s easy to set your line in steep waves thanks to its fin set-up (perhaps a little flexible? ), which would invite you to tube if the wave gave the opportunity to. Powerful bottom turns, off the lips… In short, radical maneuvers surfers love. With always this advantage of dropping waves further out.

“In summary, a really fun board.”

If there was a small downside, it’s on the carrying handle. The latter does not allow, as before, to lift your board horizontally and then turn it under your arm for transport. It was, for a handicapped arm that I am, a serious asset. So I equipped it with protective film on the sides so as not to damage it by turning it on the ground before lifting it. And that, sincerely, I recommend it to everyone. Not only does this protect on the ground but also when you lend your board to a lot of people like an ambassador does.

Beginner paddle hits are largely damped and the board is protected.

In summary, a really fun board. Which lends itself to all playing fields. For me, a revelation in my way of SUPing.”
