“Looking at the GONG range, this shortboard had on paper all the qualities to please me and I must say it delivered on the water! Above all, I wanted an uncompromising board for super fast bottom turns and aggressive top turns. Well, that’s exactly what its shape allows me to do. You can engage the rails effortlessly when bottom turning, even at full speed. Its round tail allows you to find grip whatever the angle of the turn or the type of section.
The turns are fluid and flawless.
I can hit the top of the wave with the speed to send buckets of water. This 5’9 is perfect for my size (83kg). It carries enough in the soft sections and reacts instantly in the maneuvers. I didn’t find it difficult to get used to. It’s not the ideal board for freestyle but the maneuvers are quite easy with it. I sailed strapped and strapless for the same conclusions. You can really let loose on this board, big turns, off the lip or re-entry, it does it all.”
