FEEDBACK: LANCE 5’7 !!!

In our range, the Lance is the board to progress quickly and without difficulty. Its comfort also allows you to go for sessions in all serenity in difficult conditions, as Thomas explains.

“Feedback on the Lance 5’7, my size 72 kg 46 years old (it matters), intermediate level (I fly well, I manage an 85l board but I am weak on maneuvers). I bought this Lance as a supplement to have safety on certain spots or comfort for cold or bad days.

Test conditions

Test conditions: tired rider, 5 degree in the air, the same for the water. Inland spot, gusting to 25/30 knots. Navigation in 4.5 overpowered and 3.3, overpowered too … First, the magic of the wing, the lake is overflowing, departure between the trees which have their feet in the water. Departure by paddling on your stomach, mangrove style. Note that the paddle is very good, flat rocker and big tail, it delivers.

As announced, the board is super stable despite the 5’7 size. Frankly I was really not in a good shape and the conditions were really tough and very cold (5/4 combi hood and gloves) but all the starts were easy and without stress (I always start on my knees with the front foot already in the strap).

Easy board

Take off is easy, the board glides well. The wide tail does not interfere at all and we do not really feel the 7 kg underfoot. The second essential criterion for me after a good glide is the management of the touchdowns. Good surprise, it does not stick at all, you touch and you continue to fly.

The last thing that is not bad is that the tail is wide and allows the rear feet to be easily shifted to correct the attitude of the board when the pressure on the foil is unstable. In summary, I was able to double my time in the water given the conditions and my fitness today. The board is not a fighter plane but it flies well and fast with good know-how. Obviously on the non-flight phases it’s super easy. It’s a safe board that gets the job done without being heavy.”
