FEEDBACK: GONG SURFOIL ALLVATOR VELOCE FULL CARBON!!!

“Hello Team, the Veloces have arrived and so I can start testing them. Here is my report after my 2 sessions yesterday pumping flat then surfing on the Veloce XXL with its stab 43 on the 70cm Full Carbon Prepeg.

Pumping session

Being a fan of the XXL Curve for pumping, I was a bit worried about switching to a 1900 surface identical to the XL Curve. I had prepared myself by doing a lot of dockstarts and beachstarts in the XL Curve to anticipate. My transition from the XXL Rise to the XXL Curve had caused me some temporary placement problems before I could fully exploit it. Once is not customary, I had a dozen of messed up dockstarts before actually making a first lap on the Veloce in which I was completely out of it. The placement of the feet requires to be ultra precise, the slightest small shift becomes fatal.

Once this adaptation time is over, what can I say: it’s insane!!!! And even if I am aware that I have to adjust my technique, I’m blasting out the stopwatch. Vmax of pump recorded at 27kmh (I had pushed the XL Curve to 24kmh) with a technique largely perfectible … I think I can push it close to 30kmh. Interesting info, the effort to pump is less, I save myself physically much more than with the XL Curve. As a result, the distances covered are multiplied.

If I had to sum up this first session in 1 sentence: faster and further! I like math so I did my little calculation. My cardio usually explodes around 1min, in XXL Curve I peak at 18kmh or 300m on a run, with the Veloce I should get the 500m per minute on this wing, and maybe increase my cardio capacity a little bit to exceed the minute!

Surf boat session

A real treat, I’m usually on an XL Curve behind the boat. The XXL Veloce is much more pleasant for curves and cutbacks as it keeps a lot of speed. I tried catching up with the boat at full speed (like a boat at 20kmh and going from the 3rd wave to the first), which is impossible in XXL Curve, difficult in XL Curve, and becomes rather easy in XXL Veloce!

Let’s do it again today and tomorrow I’ll test in Wing.”
