Here’s a feedback from Marc for the bigger riders who are thinking about the high aspect dimensions of the Fluid XL-H for wing or surf foiling.

“I’m 95kg and using the Fluid XL-H in wing and surf foiling. After a few weeks of testing in many conditions, here’s my point of view for the bigger guys. In the light wind, it takes off as early as the Fluid XXL-T, 10-12 knots with a Neutra 5.5, but it requires more pumping effort. With the Fluid XXL-T you lift the board and the front wing grips right away. With the Fluid H, you have to pump 2 to 3 strokes before taking off.

Once in the air the change is radical.

It is faster but also more unstable. Its glide is really better, which is very pleasant at the end of the jibe. If in Fluid XXL-T you have to pump to recreate speed wind, with the Fluid H you let yourself slide and it starts again. As for surfing, it surfs in nothing: 10-20 cm and it surfs, it is ultra sensitive, a chop of wind and you can feel it. In strong winds: I find that the wing (in navigation) is less pleasant in the high end. 22 knots with the Neutra 4.5 because it is very responsive and just wants to speed up… and it’s going too fast, or it’s too complicated for me…But it’s a great help to fly upwind and look for waves, and I went much faster than 22 knots with it.

In downwind surfs, it is greaaaat.

It allows you to surf from 20cm to 2m without problem because it easily accepts speed. You can be on top of a set wave and surf it to the bottom without any problem (as well as with a Fluid L-T) but its glide will allow you to jump from one wave to another really easily. For me the Fluid H is great in the waves and in sloppy conditions. In surf foiling it behaves rather well and can take waves up to 1m20. However, its speed will take you out of the hollow section and its turning radius hinders it radicality (if we can speak of radicality). For me, in waves, the Fluid L-T is far ahead because it is more manageable and allows you to surf closer to the wave.

In surfing it takes off in nothing but as in wing foiling, you will have to pump a little more at take off because it hooks on less than the Fluid XXL-T.

Once in the air it reminded me of the first time I did surf foiling where you take a maximum of speed in marginal conditions.

And in pumping it is crazy.

The distances covered thanks to the speed are crasy. It’s really magical, I’m not good at connections but with this front wing I’ve been linking a lot of waves. In consistent waves it remains manageable. You’re not being ejected.

In a word for those who are hesitating: it is a great front wing in many conditions and in surfing it is magic!!! To try it is to adopt it.
