Feedback from Filippo comparing his Neutra 5m2 with textile handles to his new Droid 5.5m2 with UPE technology and rigid handles.

“Today, comparative test Neutra 5 and Droid 5.5 both UPE.”

“Very small wave … let’s just say bumps except for a little bit occasionally, low wind as in the pic. Poor conditions for 5 and already good for 5.5, Lethal 75, mast H85, stab freestyle 41, front fluid LT (my current light wind front).

I enter earlier with the 5 Neutra (arrived this morning). Four pumps and flight. I go upwind and the apparent develops a remarkable power, first jibe and the wing really, but really, repositions itself in my hands as if it were remote controlled. Foot change, first wave and surf (small, but clear) the wing follows even more docile, light and neutral than the normal version (which is already excellent), I take the wing again and it regains instantaneous power, but very progressively… 45 minutes of tests tightening, loosening, maneuvering, slowing down and then pushing to test…all perfect! Light, stable (ok..the wind was light, but you can feel the rigidity of the structure), progressive power release, very powerful, Power distributed on both hands almost equally (in the droid the front hand pulls more). I can’t say anything..no..I can: beautiful .

Wing change and take the Droid 5.5.

Obviously more powerful, but even if the measure is different, I feel that the release of Power is different: more immediate and clear-cut, less progressive (excellent for light and for freestyle): a train! The winger pulls powerfully on the front hand, accelerates very quickly and almost instantaneously compared to the Neutra (always considering the extra half meter). I’m glad I took the 5.5 Droid as a bigger wing due to its compactness and power (the Droid is a little more powerful than the Neutra obviously considering the half size more), but from 5 and down the choice would be really difficult. I would say that those who do freestyle have a specialized sail with the Droid, compact, highly maneuverable, powerful and with immediate acceleration…

Those who have waves in their program (like me, even if the level is still low) have the ideal choice in the Neutra… supreme and specialized wings. For light winds, the Droid has something more in terms of power and acceleration while maintaining optimal measurements even for those who are not tall and do not have long levers. I hope in the coming days for days with wind in the upper limit and some waves.”
