Comparative review of the 2025 Droid Aramid X and 2025 Droid SP Aramid CZ by Chris.

“A little feedback on the 2025 Droid SP/CZ and Aramid X for those undecided between them. I have to say both are beautiful wings and together with the standard Aramid UPE and Dacron versions we are spoilt for choice. I am lucky enough to have the 2025 SP/CZ in 6.0 and 5.0 and the 2025 X from 3.5 to 5.0 and have now done a lot of hours on both.

I would preface this report by saying that I really loved the 2024 Droid Aramid X - for me it was a sensational wing.”

Power and control

“The 2025 SP/CZ really is a continuation and progression of that wing and to me it shares similar handling characteristics - it is a powerful and incredibly stable wing that produces a huge amount of drive once up and running and it locks in to be incredibly stable and light handling despite the power. It does, however, demand precision to sheeting angle and trim but for a competent rider it really is a joy to use. As with the 2024 X it requires a subtly different approach to initial take off pumping taking care not to oversheet and stall the wing - but once the flow is attached it just flies and the control and precision are just amazing. For racing the performance really is breathtaking with crazy acceleration and angles - upwind and downwind.”

Superb all round wing

“By comparison the 2025 Aramid X has a slightly softer, more forgiving and adaptable feel - to me it is much closer to the 2024 Aramid UPE version but of course with the benefit of the added durability of the X canopy. Anybody who perhaps found the 2024 X version to be a bit 'wooden' (not me as I loved those wings !) will find the 2025 X version much more to their liking - it is a superb all round wing with light handling and great stability but with a slightly more accessible and comfortable feel.

Its great to have the choice of such amazing wings !
