Sébastien got his hands on the Curve H and Veloce for a test thanks to his friend and GONG ambassador. Here are his impressions.
Wing foiler: Mathieu, GONG team rider, in Lemon FSP 2X, Neutra Perf Series, HM85 mast and Veloce front wing.
High-performance but accessible front wings
“This weekend I had the chance to test the latest Veloce XL, Curve L-H and Curve XL-H.
I usually sail with the Ypra-S, Lemon 95l, Neutra v2, mast HM and stab Fluid H 42. I’m at a level where jibes are no problem and doing a few tacks. I weigh just under 80kg. No jumping but surfing. Also a windsurfer.
I really appreciated these front wings which are very accessible for an intermediate level but very high level in terms of performance. Certainly behind the Ypra in terms of performance but not so far ultimately because it is better to have an easy and manageable front wing than a technical wing that is uncontrollable if the level is not there.”
The Veloce in light winds
“The conditions were more than light, flat water, around 10 knots. The Veloce flies even in this standard version. It turns pretty well. Jibes are easy. The glide is more limited, you can feel it in the lighter conditions. I lost the flight more easily.”
The Curve H in windy conditions
“Clearly my favorite. Tested on flat conditions with 25 gusty knots and also with some swell bumps created by this wind. It surfs very well, it slides very well, it turns well. Easy to take off, as much as the Veloce in my opinion. I recommend this high-level wing for its ease of access. When surfing I was not ejected. Perfect. I would definitely see it in my quiver for short surfs and very light wind days.”Take advantage of a 10 to 25% discount on Curve H front wings right now.
