EVENT: MAKING THE FINAL AT THE GWA LANZAROTE!
A tough field of competitors met in Lanzarote at the beginning of July for the third leg of the World Cup in the Surf-Freestyle category. The event was a crazy display of tricks with average score sheets that illustrate the intensity of the heats throughout the event.
To get a W in a heat, you had to bring your absolute A game, commit to huge tricks and of course, nail your landings! A game in which Malo was super consistent from the first round until the final, systematically landing his 3 main tricks in the first 3 minutes and in the same order please 😉 Adding style to his regularity with crazy stunts like this Front to 360 coming out of nowhere, followed by huge cheers by the fans on the beach.
This impressive consistency for the level he displayed allowed him to beat the winners of the first two events of the year on his way to the final. Unfortunately, he had to hand the final win to Gollito who took the lead in the dying seconds of the heat!
A second place finish in a World Cup event one day before turning 17, well done Malo!!!
We congratulate all the competitors for their performances and the very nice spirit of camaraderie we witnessed, both on the water and on land. The cheering of Malo by the wing foiling elite when he came in after his heat was a moving moment. This great sportsmanship is awesome to see.
Big up for Malo who has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with at the highest level! The ongoing constitution of our Team is slowly bearing fruit. We thank David aka Vilayta and Moritz for their coaching and their permanent support of Malo. A great team effort led by Mat, our Team Manager working from Tahiti.
Big up also for our product division which has developed next level gear! Malo wanted to be equipped for this event with production gear: the all-new 2023 wings, a high-ratio Pro Fluid foil and the Lemon FSP Pro.
And because the way counts more than the results, we congratulate Malo for having sportingly refused to be carried in triumph by his friends, convinced that he had won, as long as the results were not official. A very respectful gesture for his opponent, multiple Windsurfing world champion.

Perso j’ai visionné la finale en direct sur Youtube avec mes kids et on était tous unanimes, Malo était meilleur !
