Removing the fuselage from the mast
Here are some tips for dismounting the fuselage from your mast without difficulty.
The connection of our mast with its fuselage follows the principle of self-tightening conical interlocking. Whether it is an aluminum* or carbon mast. This conical heel at the lower end of the mast allows clearance-free connection of the mast in your Aluminum or Titanium fuselage. The more you sail or surf with it, the tighter it gets! And with its three screws, you are sure that nothing will move. Therefore, the question arises of separating those two parts after a long session. Nothing could be simpler:
- Turn your board upside down on a non-abrasive surface, ideally on top of your board bag.
- Leave the stabilizer and front wing screws in place.
- Remove the three screws that secure your fuselage to the mast.
- Place one foot behind on the board, behind the mast.
- Tap the stabilizer shaft with one hand, and with the other, hold the front end of the fuselage to prevent your lower from falling as it becomes unstuck.
- And that’s it!
We recommend that you put on your stab and front wing covers in case your foil slips out of your hands ;-)

*This method applies to all our masts. It is therefore also suitable for removing the Mast Fuselage Connector from your Alu mast. The alternative method when your equipment is completely disassembled is to tap the top of your Mast Fuselage Connector with a mallet and hold the fuselage with the other hand. Be careful, your MFC will suddenly come apart and will inevitably fall to the ground. So carry out this method above a carpet or a lawn for example.
