JVB Surf Bo EPS
The fast and compact board.
Preamble
Our Direct Sales Distribution Model has proven its efficiency on every level. Now we want to extend that system to Brands that are ‘Friends’ of GONG so we may offer more choices than ever. Jean Valère Bordenave entrusts GONG with his JVB Surfboard production and sales. He is a renowned Shaper from Corsica, a high level Surfer, and the first to have charged G-Land on a SUP (GONG Electric 9’11 in fact), so this is a collaboration and a long standing relationship between our two Brands.
Function
The super fast and compact board with a modern shape dedicated to small waves.
Introduction
The BO is a shortboard model made for speed. Its nose and tail’s width make the BO a small board on which its easier to paddle. It is stable and large even though its a shortboard. The BO offers an outstanding control and stability in terms of paddling which allows you to be alert and quick at the Peak and ready for the take off. Its rocker is shaped in a way that gives speed to the paddle and to enter the wave faster and earlier. Thanks to the concaves and hull combo, the BO keeps speeding in the wave, tearing the hollow parts and flying ontop of the soft sections. The BO model is “the upper level”. It gives you the feeling of speeding down the line, some flow and control in the small waves surf. It’s an awesome board to learn and progress with for tricks and airs.
GLOBAL
- Outline: composed of short and long curves to obtain a non-standard outline combining control and ability to turn short.
- Rocker: in 3 parts, the middle section streched out and the steepening of the nose and tail’s curves. This rocker is to combine speed and control according to the surfer’s weight shift on its front or back foot.
- Bottom: Simple concave + double concave + Vee to limit theoutflow of water under the board and gain speed by using the “VENTURI EFFECT” principle.
- Rails: soft under the front foot to maximise progress and control. Rails are generous and edgy under the back foot to emphasize speed and responsiveness of the board.
- Tail: Diamond rounded that gives you control, rotation is made easier and there is some softness while moving from one rail to another.
- Fins: Thruster

JVB’s Interview
How to properly glue your pads?
The question of the pad often comes down to an aesthetic choice for the look of your board. But what seems like luxury to non-pros is actually a huge help.
If surfing is the art of placement then you need to put your feet properly on the board. And what better than a touch marker to know, ok, I’m at the sweet spot for this turn.?
Sticking good pads is therefore essential. They will signal to your feet whether they are in the perfect position or not.
You still have to stick them properly, and some get very creative…
