SUP foil Board Inflatable HIPE Intruder

Program
The inflatable SUP foil board built for outstanding paddling speed—perfect for flat starts, downwinders, and ultra-light wind winging: fast, durable, and travel-friendly.
Presentation
The HIPE Intruder is the "downwind" SUP foiling board in our inflatable range, offering exceptional paddling speed.
With its long, streamlined shape, it reduces drag and boosts paddling efficiency, ensuring lightning-fast acceleration for an effortless takeoff. Once in flight, it’s a true missile—allowing you to capitalize on light conditions or ride a faster foil than on a board with more drag.
The low-drag rocker maximizes paddling efficiency and makes takeoff a breeze. It’s a true flat-start rocket! In waves, you’re up and flying in just a couple of paddle strokes and dropping in from way back, nearly flat-starting on the swell. And for downwinders, it pops up onto bumps with ease, even in high-speed conditions.
The flat deck and Ridge Traction Pad provide a secure stance, letting you carve and accelerate endlessly with seamless transitions. For winging, the firm grip is a game-changer, allowing you to push the Intruder hard. When fully inflated, it offers 95% of the sensations of a rigid board—minus the drawbacks. It’s reactive, fast, and impact-resistant.
Surprisingly, this inflatable technology is even lighter than its rigid counterpart of the same size—despite the rigid one being impressively light already! A real game-changer for everyday use.
Just like the entire HIPE range from GONG, it perfectly balances the performance of rigid boards with the convenience of an inflatable. Our groundbreaking dropstitch construction, reinforced with an ultra-stiff carbon plate, is a game-changer in the inflatable foil board industry.
The HIPE Intruder is built for speed and precision, rewarding riders who push their limits. Its sleek, high-performance design is crafted for those chasing ultimate performance without compromise.

OUTLINE
The HIPE Intruder features a narrow outline, even sleeker than its smaller counterpart. With its length, this board is built for glide.
It cuts through the water like a SUP race board—perfect for early pop-ups and quick restarts on bumps.
ROCKER
Designed for ultimate paddling efficiency, the taut rocker ensures smooth glide, allowing you to reach takeoff speed effortlessly, regardless of foil size.
The thin tail enhances responsiveness during pumping and offers extra forgiveness on touchdowns in choppy conditions.
RAILS
The rounded rails and thick tail of the HIPE Intruder boost glide before takeoff. You take off effortlessly, almost as fast as on a rigid board. It’s truly impressive.
POINT NOSE
The point nose enhances glide, minimizes wind drag, and keeps the front light for effortless pumping and smooth turns.
PIN TAIL
Its long, narrow, and consistently thick pin tail provides just the right amount of rear volume for support and pop during takeoff. While minimizing drag, it also enhances pumping efficiency and maneuverability.
A SPECIFIC ICS PLATE
Designed for high performance, this plate features a tapered rear that seamlessly integrates with the board’s tail, optimizing glide and ensuring clean water release before takeoff.
Its extended front section is tailored for downwind and flat start riding, allowing compatibility with a variety of foils.
Built to handle the power of our oversized wings, it’s the ultimate setup for early takeoff.
Designed for minimal weight, maximum glide, and controlled flex, our plate has a unique 3D structure:
- A beam at the axis prevents any bending.
- A very gentle volume drop on the front reduces the thickness and therefore the weight, while retaining the necessary mechanics to support the pressure of the front heel.
- At the rear, the drop in volume is more brutal on the sides to recover verticality which will further support the beam effect on the plate.
- The whole thing is “steamlined” according to a hydrodynamic study of the flows which also promotes speed in contact with water, valuable before flight but also to avoid braking during touchdowns.

Buying guide
For whom?
The HIPE Intruder is designed for advanced foilers seeking the ultimate high-performance inflatable SUP foil downwind board.
Paddle efficiently with this board requires solid physical fitness, particularly in tough conditions. In wing foiling mode, it’s much more forgiving for experienced riders, as it’s mainly used in smoother conditions.
A solid background in Stand-Up Paddle is a must. Balancing in choppy, windy conditions remains a technical challenge, so regularly practicing flat starts is a great way to build the skills needed for smooth and controlled takeoffs.
For what?
Born from the SUP foil downwind revolution, the HIPE Intruder is a thrill to ride—not just in DW, but also in waves, flat starts, and light wind winging. This makes it the ultimate queen of versatility—and the queen of maximizing your session count!
As the fastest board in the lineup, the HIPE Intruder is designed to shine in long downwind swells.
On flat water, this board becomes a perfect training and progression tool for takeoffs. Mastering flat starts is an incredible technical and physical boost, especially on those often-overlooked calm days. Make the most of them! ;-)
In wing foiling, it adds a whole new dimension to your quiver. You’ll be flying strapless in light and ultra-light wind from just 6 knots, taking off with the slightest gust. If the wind fades, the board’s glide will keep you moving, and if it completely shuts off, you can always paddle back efficiently while lying down.
This version is designed to provide an alternative with the key advantages of durability, portability, and easy storage that an inflatable offers—all within the Intruder EPS Pro program.
Which quiver mates?
The HIPE Intruder is a great complement to any wing foiling setup, ensuring you get the most days on foil.
Pair it with the right foil—either a high-aspect downwind model or an oversized wing to unlock its full potential on flat water.
And to maximize every session, consider adding some non-foiling SUPs and surfboards for those classic wave days.
Which foil wings?
Our V3 foil range is now divided into 3 families:
Perf Series for progression.
Team Series for performance.
Team Pro for competition.
In the Perf Series V3, here are our recommendations to match the HIPE INTRUDER program:
The Trail: 100% pumping.
Perfect for first flat start attempts, its thick profile and maximum lift make takeoff easy with minimal effort while remaining forgiving
The Curve H FG: maneuverability and lift.
The ultimate versatile choice for surfing, pumping, and effortlessly connecting waves.
The Fluid H FG: maneuverability and speed.
Designed for sharp turns, speed, effortless glide, and a lively feel. With explosive pop, this foil is built to go wherever you take it—carving through water or launching into the air!
For the Team Series V3, these are our top picks to match the HIPE NOTW:
The Curve H: maneuverability and lift.
Retaining all the strengths of the CURVE H FG, this carbon-built version offers enhanced reactivity, precision, and expanded freestyle potential for wing foiling.
The Fluid H: maneuverability and speed.
Retaining all the strengths of the FLUID H FG, this carbon-built version offers enhanced reactivity, precision, and expanded freestyle potential for wing foiling.
The Veloce H: glide and versatility.
It's a freefly and downwind machine. With it, you glide and connect bumps endlessly with unmatched fluidity. It accelerates effortlessly on the wave and requires very little speed to take off. You can fly at low speeds without stalling, and despite its 10:1 ratio, it remains incredibly maneuverable, making flight easy in any situation.
The Veloce HDW: 100% glide.
For ultimate performance in endless glide, the Veloce HDW stands as the queen of downwind with its 13:1 ratio and incredible profile.
The Sirus: lift and glide.
Master of flat starts and dock starts, the Sirus is also a downwind powerhouse. Though slower than the Veloce H models, it excels at taking off in the lightest conditions. Able to fly at near standstill and reach close to 20 knots in smaller sizes, it offers an incredible range, perfect for very slow swells. It’s a game-changer for starting in downwind, freeing you from the need for high cadence—you can take it easy and gradually push your limits.
For the Team Pro V3, these are our top picks to match the HIPE NOTW:
The Ultra Trail: pumping and endless glide
Optimized for long distances, it’s perfect for experienced riders looking to maximize efficiency in flat starts.
Which stab?
The Curve H stab ensures ultra-early takeoff and enhanced maneuverability. It delivers a strong surfy feel, perfect for carving through waves.
The Fluid H stabilizer provides more front-foot pressure and lift while remaining maneuverable from rail to rail—a versatile and high-performance option.
The Veloce H and Veloce H DW pair perfectly with the Veloce H stabilizer, delivering maximum glide and pumping efficiency.
These three stabilizers deliver top performance. Your choice depends on how much lift you want, whether you’re looking for extra support or ultimate glide. Also, consider the degree of maneuverability you prefer.
Positioning of the foil?
For GONG foils, place the top plate in the center of the US rails to start and move it forward a few centimeters when you get into transitions (a sign of good progress).
The more you move it forward, the more the board will pitch nose-up. The more you move it backwards, the more the board nose-dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let their back foot work, especially when we come from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a little, forces more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort
What paddle length?
Choose a paddle that’s 5 to 10 cm taller than your height.
Which accessories?
Safety is a top priority when practicing board sports, even more so for foil sports.
A board leash is mandatory, and the belt version is recommended, especially for Downwind riding. It ensures that your board stays close to you, keeping a safety float within reach. In waves, it prevents your board from potentially injuring others.
Check its condition before each session and replace it every year. It’s your life jacket.
For optimal safety, a helmet and an impact vest are absolute must-haves.
To enhance safety, we’ve created the Bodyguard textile range, designed to reduce the risk of foil cuts. While the danger is always there, it’s even more significant during the learning phase. We strongly advise taking every precaution possible. In a fluorescent yellow version, they also provide you with greater visibility and therefore more safety at sea.
Good to know :
A reminder that a downwinder is a demanding discipline with significant risks. Always practice safely—never beyond 300m from the coast unless accompanied by proper assistance (at minimum, a certified boat with a qualified crew). Equip yourself with full safety gear and be ready to handle any emergencies, from cuts and broken paddles to severe injuries.
NEVER position your board and foil between you and an incoming wave. The risk of severe injury is at its highest.
Avoid rubbing your board against shells, sharp, or abrasive surfaces. It will get punctured. You may be able to repair it—if you manage to bring it back. Stay cautious.
Never leave your board in the sun—especially an inflatable board, and even more so a black carbon plate, which heats up quickly. Excessive heat can cause delamination!
Do not screw beyond the bottom of the box, or you will puncture the inflatable skin. Only use non-through US box nuts.
Never let your foil board get caught in breaking waves, especially near shore. A wave rolling your board can cause significant damage.
Equipments
SCS System
The composite plate is equipped with Smart Connection System (SCS) double entry boxes to easily install and adjust the foil. The double holes correspond to the stance of the holes in your GONG foil plate. Simply present the foil with the brass nuts already mounted on the plate, slide them into the rails without disassembling, tighten the 4 screws, and you're ready to go.
To facilitate foil assembly, our new US fixing brass nuts are connected by a carbon fiber rod and are included with the board. This saves time for foil assembly, and the adjustment is precise. No more risk of losing your brass nuts: you leave them screwed on the plate and slide them into the US rails using the 4 new insertion holes. There's nothing to disassemble: just tighten the screws and go!
Foil adjustment is also easier and more precise with the adjustment information engraved on the plate.
Carrying handle
The handle in the carbon plate, placed on the hull, is a real comfort enhancement for launching and carrying over short distances. And it has no impact on the rigidity and strength of our plate, which are flawless.
Full deck pad
The premium full-length 5mm pad delivers maximum grip and comfort while riding.
With its Ridge Traction grooving, borrowed from our hard boards, it delivers superior comfort, unmatched non-slip performance for maximum stability and offers firm support with the best grip and comfort during navigation.
Unlike the dropstitch surface of the board, the pad provides instant feedback—you’ll immediately feel whether your foot is correctly positioned.
Transport bag with compartments
The HIPE Intruder comes in a super practical and durable wheeled travel bag.
Generously sized, it holds your HIPE and foil while staying within baggage limits on most airlines.
The backpack straps are thickly padded for extra comfort, while the reinforced handles are both sturdy and pleasant to grip.
Integrated compartments on the inside front panel allow for secure and organized storage of your foil parts and hardware. Plus, compression straps minimize the bag’s volume for easy transport.
Pump, harsware and repair kit
The fast double-action pump included is highly efficient, so you’ll be the first one on the water.
The board comes with all necessary screws for the straps and foil top plate.
A repair kit is also included in case of damage (please note that the kit does not include glue, but you can easily find PVC glue at your local hardware store). We also keep spare components in stock, so you can easily restore your board to like-new condition. Everything on an inflatable board is repairable!
