Kite Vertigo Navy 7m Second Hand 10691
Program
The Vertigo is our performance kite with twin tip DNA and total versatility. No need to choose between power, precision, hangtime, responsiveness or drift: this kite has it all.
Presentation
The Vertigo boosts all programs. Designed for twin tips, it has the glide and maneuverability that we love in many aspects of kiteboarding.
This 3-strut kite, both rigid, lightweight, and reactive, is particularly smooth. Its handling is gentle and fast thanks to its shape that really glides. You don't feel any resistance, it's super pleasant.
Nevertheless, it provides the necessary power for a twin tip, namely for boosting. The bar feedback is clear, and the actions are direct for the most radical moves.
Transitioning from a twintip to a surfboard, from a foil session to sending jumps, unhooking easily—this is all that Vertigo offers.
Its dominant freestyle DNA opens up many possibilities, especially when unhooked. You have power on demand, without ever feeling like your arms are getting ripped off. And it relaunches easily.
This freestyle kite is capable of everything!!!
Technical sheet
Kite Vertigo Navy 7m Second Hand 10691 7 m² / NAVY
Technical specifications:
- Leading edge and struts made of Dacron DP175LL: providing a rigid skeleton.
- Trailing edge made of Dacron DP175LL for good resistance to tears and enhanced longevity in windy conditions.
- Canopy made of triple ripstop hyper-resistant and dynamic fabric.
- Strategically placed Insigna reinforcements on the leading edge for improved durability.
- Tips saver made of nylon 1680D to protect the tips from abrasion.
- 1.9mm Robline sheathed Dyneema bridles and LIROS DC701 connections: ultra-thin, high-quality, and low stretch.
- 100% detachable bridles for easy replacement of worn parts.
- Stainless steel A4 friction rings that do not jam or wear out.
- One Pump system for rapid inflation and deflation (the clamps are not mounted on the kite; they are supplied in the repair kit included in your kite bag) for quick inflation and deflation.
Shape:
- 3-strut design: Excellent weight/stability ratio for outstanding performance while remaining easy to pilot (relatively light).
- Hybrid C shape: Modern design, stable, predictable, and dynamic. Projection coefficient: 65.1%: moderately flat arc.
- Moderate aspect ratio (4.7) for good bottom-end power and a super healthy and linear feeling throughout the window. It provides lift with a kite that remains fast. It is also super stable at the zenith and corrects many mistakes.
- Forgiving profile for maximum stability in light wind and in case of pilot errors.
- Thin leading edge at the center for a fast and sleek kite in the air, while retaining surface area and rigidity on the tips for strong demands during maneuvers or in high wind conditions.
- Moderate camber and reflex profile for maximum stability and controlled power. This kite glides and remains more self-stable in case of errors or crashes.
- Freeride/freestyle outline: Slightly curved leading edge for maximum performance. The kite can still roll on the water to reset for relaunch by gently pulling on a rear line.
- Segmented struts: Stiffer at the connection with the leading edge for a very precise behavior, more power at equal surface area, and more stability in high wind. It maintains a superb profile hold in high wind conditions for a 3-strut kite.
- Square tips with moderate surface area allowing good stability in unhooked maneuvers and a good compromise in all programs.
- Tips shape without internal twist for a kite with a surface-based rotation on the ears and not on the brake. It maintains fast rotation, especially in unhooked maneuvers.
- Strong spi tension on each section for very dynamic kite handling: more reactive, more lively, more power (direct feeling: no latency).
- Easy bar feedback: You always know where your kite is through constant and measured bar pressure.
- Significant depower for a wide range of use and a reassuring kite. It provides full power when sheeted in and significant depower when sheeted out. Large depower range for added reassurance.
- "Self-stabilizing" shape with its moderate aspect ratio, reflex profile, and significant camber that "grabs" the air. Rearward-shifted tips to distribute the mass slightly toward the rear of the kite to prevent pitching/stalling. It's a predictable and stable kite for maximum safety.
- Short front bridle to prevent tangling in the tips and make the kite more responsive; attached on 4 points, with 3 friction ring pulleys for more depower and a more consistent behavior in all flight aspects.
- 3 adjustments on the front bridle:
- Outward for more bottom-end power, less bar pressure, a slightly wider turning radius, and more stability for freestyle.
- Inward for a less powerful kite in the front lines/harness that turns faster and has more depower.
- Central adjustment for perfect versatility.
- 3 attachment points for the rear bridle to adjust reactivity and bar pressure according to individual preference.
Buying guide
For whom?
Clearly the kite of a skilled twin-tip rider who wants a kite capable of excelling in all programs.
What for?
The Vertigo is primarily a twin-tip kite, offering the perfect power and remarkable maneuverability. Perfect for jumps and tricks.
Its flying principle is to be "unbraked." So, it's a kite that glides perfectly. Ideal recipe for unhooked riding, for example.
But it's also what makes it great for surfing. It positions itself easily wherever you want in the window, it drifts, it turns.
In summary, it's the 3-strut twin-tip kite that also knows how to do everything else.
Understanding our kite range:
Display : the freeride kite for rapid progression.
Vertigo : high-performance kite for all disciplines from unhooked to surfing.
Ayto : the ultimate 5-strut kite for big air and kite loops.
Unik : lightweight mono-strut freeride kite for light wind, foiling, and waves.
Strutless : super light kite for light wind and freeride/freerace.
Strutless Revo : ultra-light and maneuverable kite for foiling and surfing.
Elips : the ultimate kite for waves.
What size?
The Vertigo has power and moves really well. A skilled rider will easily exploit the low wind range. And with its 3-pulley bridles and "open" tips, you'll have a really important and enjoyable high wind range.
Choose your kite according to our recommendations below. Wind ranges always depend on your weight, skill level, and the type of board you're using!
Bar Size:
Keep in mind that the longer your bar, the easier it will be to turn your kite. Also, remember that the smaller the kite, the easier it will turn. So, the smaller the kite, the more you need a smaller bar to balance behaviors.
Conversely, the larger your kite and the more you use it in light wind, the slower it will be. A longer bar will have a greater leverage effect to compensate for this natural loss of reactivity.
Therefore, consider these parameters to choose the size of your bar and adapt the steering to the feeling you like and the conditions encountered.
If you want smooth and progressive steering, then you should “undersize” the bar. If you want more reactive but less forgiving steering, you should choose a longer bar.
For example, if I want smoother steering with my 9m2, then I will go for a 46cm bar.
If I want hyper-reactive steering, then I would go for the 52cm bar.
Oversizing the bar will have little interest and paradoxically will result in a feeling of heaviness in steering in the case of the 62cm. This one will be perfect, even essential in light wind. But in stronger winds, it will be slower to untwist and manipulate.
Between the 46 and the 52, there is no sensation of heaviness. These are two very close bars.
Note also that the 52 is perfectly usable on all our kites. No kite will not work or perform poorly for this reason. The 46, 57 and 62 are just optimizations for perfectionists.
It should also be noted that two bars generally age only half as fast as a single bar for the whole quiver ?
The key size is 52cm; it is the most versatile bar that you should choose if you want to have only one bar for a quiver 7-9-12 or 8-11 or even 8-10-13. If you want to add a second bar to your quiver, here are our recommendations with GONG kites:
The recommendations below are based on the behavior of GONG kites. Since our bars are compatible with a large number of kites, you can adjust your choice according to the type of kite used.
Line Length:
Your Feel-X bar comes standard with 80cm front lines, 19m of lines, and 3m extensions already mounted. The original setup is the most versatile and will be your best choice for 90% of your sessions.
One of the main advantages of the Feel-X bar is its great tolerance provided by its shape. By playing with its lengths, or even modifying them with our extensions (sold separately), you further enhance its versatility!
- 22m Lines:
The "standard" length provides a more progressive and predictable bar feeling (recommended setting for progressing kiters). Your flight window will be larger, offering more power at takeoff. This is the setting to favor in light to medium wind conditions, and for everyday freeride use. - 19m Lines:
Shorter lines offer a more direct response from the kite, increasing its reactivity. The flight window will be shorter. This is the perfect setting for advanced kiters, especially for wave riding or foil for more agility. If you choose to ride with shorter lines, you will also gain comfort in high wind conditions.
Note that 22m and 19m are not extreme line lengths and remain a fine adjustment to your piloting sensation.
