Foil Rake 1.5° Riser Shim V3
Description
Program
The rake shim for race and freestyle specialists.
Presentation
This V3 carbon mast rake shim, in molded plastic reinforced with glass fiber, is installed between your board and your foil plate to lift the nose of the board. Manufactured using reinforced injection-molded plastic in a metal mold, this technology ensures exceptional strength and optimal precision.
Whether for comfort or performance tuning, this shim with a 1.5° tilt is a simple and cost-effective solution to enhance your board’s feel depending on the foil you have underfoot.
To visualize the effect of this shim, when mounted on an 85 cm mast, it raises the nose of the board as if you had a 92 cm mast. This provides more clearance before touching the water, and a more forward-flexed stance balance.
This shim is particularly appreciated on fast runs, as it raises the rider's front foot for maximum control. The raised nose also allows for softer touchdowns at high speeds, with a ricochet effect of the board on the water.
In freestyle, the raised nose offers better pop and re-pop during jumps, thanks to the increased distance between the nose and the water’s surface.
In surfing, some love this increased nose clearance from the water. The rail touches less in very tight turns, providing a good feel, especially in small, choppy waves.
The chamfers on the shim perfectly extend the chamfers of the V3 carbon mast plate, maintaining high hydrodynamic performance, especially before takeoff, during touchdowns, and re-pops.
They are compatible with our SCS quick-mount system, so you can leave it mounted on the mast without worrying about it!
Buying guide
Note: The screws in the front of your plate need to be 5mm longer. When using a 1.5° shim, screws 5mm longer than those used without the shim are required.
