The easy and versatile front wings.

Introduction

Their large surface area combined with their slim profile offer ease, lift and speed.

The program is simple: fly at very low speed, facilitate maneuvers and handle a good top speed.

The surface is close to the one of the Rise so that these X-Over are very easy. It flies almost immediately and effortlessly. But this surface also saves you from oversizing and having to take a wing with a lot of wingspan that will be less maneuverable. This important surface area of the X-Over and therefore their compactness is a guarantee of maneuverability. For someone who wants to ride short distances and do a lot of maneuvering, this is the perfect wing.

The profile is thin: you will have a high enough top speed potential to send all the moves in the catalog. L’Ours designed this range of front wings on the border between an intermediate rider program and a freestyle program. Both need an early takeoff and strong acceleration, without sacrificing handling. This is exactly what the X-Over does.

In surfing, the X-Over is very simple. Not the most radical but certainly the smoothest while offering great handling. This is especially true at low speed or in soft waves where it will really perform.
A beginner in foiling will love the X-Over because it offers immense potential for progression. The low ratio increases tolerance. It’s ideal for feeling comfortable. The foil does not fly to 25 knots as soon as you climb on it to catapult you into an uncontrollable fall.

Playful, easy, relatively quick, it has all the qualities for someone who does not seek radicalism.

Understand each wing in detail:

The M is 70 cm wide, 1250 cm2, 2.4 cm thick for a volume of 1.59L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a small wing for light riders.
  • In wing, it’s a small wing for light riders.
  • In kite foil, it’s a very versatile wing that offers lift even at very low speeds.

The L is 80 cm wide, 1550 cm2, 2.7 cm thick for a volume of 2.2L.

  • In surf foil, it’s an average wing for less than 75kg.
  • In wing, it’s an average wing for those under 75kg.

The XL has a wingspan of 90 cm, 1900 cm2, 2.9 cm thick for a volume of 2.8L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a large wing for sizes from 75 to 95kg.
  • In wing, it’s a large wing for sizes from 75 to 95kg.

The XXL is 100 cm wide, 2200 cm2, 3.1 cm thick for a volume of 3.4L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a very large wing for riders over 85kg and small waves.
  • In wing, it’s a very large wing for riders over 85kg and very light winds.

Understand their shapes

The shape of this range puts everything on the surface. This is its main strength: a large downforce which allows you to fly very early on on compact and therefore reactive wings.

The profile is quite thin (in proportion to the important chord, it is even very thin) but advanced. It’s made for a lot of efficiency at low speed, while saturating as late as possible in top speed.
Seen from the front, the X-Over is almost flat to get the most performance possible. The user of these wings will know how to manage their height and recover from stalls if necessary. The lack of camber makes for very healthy behavior.

Several wing sizes accommodate different builds and different speeds.

Construction

Our wings are made of 90% Prepreg 3K carbon, with over 15 layers of fiber in total. High stress points like joints and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and with glass for tolerance.

High pressure and high temperature molded on a foam core, our wings are virtually indestructible. Both rigid and floating, they‘re the perfect balance between low weight and infinite durability.

All of our wings and stabs have soft “tips”. Their ends are rounded and voluminous to limit the danger. We invite you to exercise the utmost caution nonetheless. Likewise, the trailing edges are blunt so as not to be sharp.

Buying guide

For whom ?

Foilers in the progression phase will love this wing for its simplicity coupled with its potential.

The Rise is intended for pure beginners. Although they may love an X-over, we will recommend it to beginners with experience in watersports. Not to pure novices.

For what ?

It does almost everything since it lifts very well and goes relatively fast, remaining super manoeuvrable because it’s very compact.

On a surf foil it’s a simple and manoeuvrable front wing that will lift you gradually because its profile is thin. Very allround, very predictable, very efficient, it’s a really cool kite.

In wing and kite foil, it is the perfect front wing for progressing and working on maneuvers.

What size ?

The M is 70cm wingspan, 1250cm2, 2.4cm thick for a volume of 1.59L.

  • In surf foil: less than 65kg.
  • In wing: less than 65kg.
  • In kite foil: suitable for all sizes.

 The L is 80cm wide, 1550cm2, 2.7cm thick for a volume of 2.2L.

  • In surf foil: from 65kg to 75kg.
  • In wing: from 65kg to 75kg.

The XL is 90cm wingspan, 1900cm2, 2.9cm thick for a volume of 2.8L.

  • In surf foil: from 75kg to 85kg.
  • In wing: from 75kg to 85kg.

The XXL is 100cm wingspan, 2200cm2, 3.1cm thick for a volume of 3.4L.

  • In surf foil: over 85kg in soft waves.
  • In wing: over 85kg or super light wind.

We will use a larger foil in low ranges, soft conditions. And conversely a smaller foil in those recommended for stronger conditions. The important thing to remember is that the choice of your front wing depends on your size which requires lift and your average speed which generates lift.

When pumping from dock start or beach start, we recommend the front wings as follows:

  • The XL: from 65kg to 85kg.
  • The XXL: above 85kg.

In DW, we tend to think that the bigger front wing is the more efficient. With some moderation though, but yes that is often the rule.

Quiver partners?

The X-Over foil is ideal with all boards without restriction. It goes without saying that it will go hand in hand with an easy board like a HIPE, Zuma, Lance or Flint in SUP foil or wing.

Positioning of the foil ?

For the GONG foils, place the top plate at the rear third of the US rails for surf, SUP and kite. Place it in the middle of the US rails when using it with a wing foil.

The more you move it forward, the more it makes the board pitch up. The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board dives.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend to forget to use the back foot, especially when we have a kite foil background. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.

Delivery delay

We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.

The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.

We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.

Shipping fees

Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.

Tracking your package

Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.

Carriers

We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.

For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.

For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.

Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.

Eco-responsible packaging

Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.

The most important thing is to sell quality, durable products that will be repairable and will please you for a long time.

For our shipments, we use:

Scotch craft paper.

Final packaging in high-end cardboard.

For rigid boards: Flexi-Hex, very high resistance ecological packaging.

This means:

Reusable and recyclable packaging.

An almost total reduction in single-use plastic.

Maximum protection and impact resistance for rigid boards thanks to the innovative Flexi-Hex honeycomb design (35mm thick).

Know everything about GONG Allvator Foil

Warning:

The practice of the Foil carries risks of major accidents. A bad mastery of the Foil can cause cuts, serious wounds, even death, for you and/or others.

The Foil must be practiced taking all the precautions when used in Kite because they are increased in comparison to those related to the Foilsurf. Remember that the Foil is long, sharp, and can reach high speeds. To be hit by a Foil, or to strike a third party can have dramatic consequences.

Foil always far from others, in safe and unobstructed water.

The Foil is mainly used in the light wind. This one can fall and force you to go swimming. Therefore, do not overestimate your strengths: never go further than what you can swim under present and announced conditions.

Wear a helmet and protective jacket to ensure your buoyancy. Always wear a full neoprene wetsuit.

When handling the foil, be careful not to cut yourself on the trailing edges.

GONG declines all responsibility in the event of an accident involving a GONG Foil. The Foil practice and its benefits/consequences is under the sole responsibility of the Foil user.
