Foil Allvator Alu Mast V1
Please note: these V1 aluminum masts are completely black, with no branding (non-contractual photos).
Aluminum Mast for GONG ALLVATOR V1 Foils.
Perfect for getting started and progressing, it’s also the most economical option to start foiling. An aluminum mast will require more maintenance, but the Foil Allvator V1 is fully removable, making it easy to store, transport and maintain. Aluminum is also very resistant and does not fear shocks.
This complete range allows you to gain height, whatever your level of practice or your program.
We offer it in 4 sizes:
The 45 cm mast, ideal for beginners. It also allows the practice of foiling in shallow water.
- In a kite foil: It will save you all the hassle of handling the foil, in particular positioning yourself when doing a waterstart. Your legs will have the strength to counter the lever of such a small mast. However, you will not be able to actually fly with it. It is therefore to be reserved at the first hour of practice.
- In surf foil: This allows you to take your first waves with peace of mind, because a short mast is more stable, the balance being easier because your center of gravity is also lower. But quickly, as soon as the first stable flights are mastered, it’s preferable to switch to a longer mast which will offer more tolerance and limit errors. This is very clearly a short-term investment, but it will allow you to start without being afraid, and you could keep it to initiate skeptical mates and all those who will inevitably ask you to test your foil.
The 65 cm mast, suitable for surfing and SUP foiling, as well as for beginners in kite foil and wing foil.
- In a kite foil: It will allow you to start without being afraid and to carry out your first hours of flight. It can also be used in particular configurations, in particular spots with very little depth for example.
- In wing foil: It will be interesting to get into the activity, for all those new to foiling, and to start on a flat body of water. It can also be used by experienced people in particular configurations: spots with very little depth for example. But like in a kite foil, as soon as you master the flight, you will move towards a longer mast. The 65cm mast is a real advantage only in the first 5 sessions.
- In surf foil and SUP foil: The 65 cm mast is the reference size in surf and SUP foil. Sufficient height to pump efficiently, you will also have more tolerance to parasitic touchdowns.
The 80 cm mast, great for the practice of kite foil, SUP foil and wing foil.
- In a kite foil: This is the length that provides the most versatility and maneuverability, so ideal for a freestyle / freeride program. Its greater height facilitates maneuvering since you will limit the touchdowns.
- In wing foil: This length brings more comfort in flight and maneuverability. Its greater height facilitates maneuvering since you will limit the touchdowns. This length is very easy to master, even for a beginner in wing, unlike surfing for example.
- In SUP foil: The length of 80cm brings the little extra that makes the difference in the curves and the pumping in surf. Without penalizing the take off in small waves with an endless draft that would plow the bottom.
The 90 cm mast, performance type for the kite foil and perfect for the practice of the wing foil.
- In a kite foil: It increases the angle of grip, and therefore better upwind and more Vmax. This is the size we recommend for aluminum performance.
- In wing foil: It allows you to increase the angle grip in the curves, and to really get away from the choppy water. No more touchdowns that unbalance you. This is the size we recommend for performance with an aluminum mast. It will also give you the necessary headroom in the waves to manage the steepness of the waves. Just like in light wind because by flying high in the gust you gain a margin for the windholes where you can maintain speed with a slight nose dive of the board.

Warning
Foiling involves significant risks of accidents. Poor control of a foil can result in cuts, serious injuries, or even death, to yourself or others.
Foiling must be practiced with all the usual precautions required for surfing/SUP, plus those specific to foiling. Remember that a foil is long, sharp, and can reach high speeds. Being hit by a foil, or hitting someone else, can have dramatic consequences.
Always foil far away from others, in safe, obstacle-free waters.
Wear a helmet and a protective vest that ensures buoyancy. Always wear a full neoprene wetsuit.
When handling the foil, be careful not to cut yourself on the trailing edges.
GONG disclaims all liability in the event of an accident involving a GONG foil. Foiling is practiced entirely at the user’s own risk.
DISPUTES AND LIABILITY
GONG SUP 1 cannot be held liable for failure to perform the contract in cases of force majeure as defined by the courts, nor in the event of fault by the customer or due to unforeseeable and insurmountable actions of a third party to the contract. GONG SUP 1 shall not be held responsible for consequences resulting from improper use of products sold on the Site.
Although our products have performance levels compatible with professional use, GONG SUP 1 is not intended to sell to professionals.
The risks associated with these sports largely depend on compliance with fundamental safety rules, right-of-way rules, and local regulations applicable at each spot.
It is the responsibility of each GONG SUP 1 product user to ensure they are covered by at least third-party liability insurance, if necessary by subscribing to a sports license.
Maintenance, usage, and safety instructions are provided in the user manual supplied with each product. It can also be downloaded via the following link or from the GONG-GALAXY.COM website. This manual is an integral part of the present contract and constitutes a full annex. You acknowledge that you have read it carefully.
Special mention for “foil” products
Foiling, regardless of the equipment used, involves particular risks. Without prejudice to the product user manual, it is essential to follow a few simple rules:
- Wear a protective vest and a helmet. Foils include blunt edges necessary for proper function but which present real danger in case of impact. As a rider, you are the most exposed to this risk. You must therefore use appropriate certified protective equipment and avoid putting yourself in risky situations. Your behavior determines your level of risk.
Except for kiteboards, always equip your board with a leash at least equal in length to the board, as well as footstraps. These elements prevent the board from being completely released toward other users. Never ride closer to others than the combined distance of your leash, your board length, and your drift in case of a fall. You must never allow a third party into this radius, which defines your danger zone. - Only practice in spots suitable for foiling (safe water entry, no shorebreak, even seabed, appropriate wind direction, etc.) and not frequented by other water sports users. The speeds reached by a foil require riding alone or among other foilers, in an environment where everyone can anticipate each other’s trajectories.
- Strictly respect right-of-way rules, especially since inertia and maneuverability differ from traditional boards, particularly for beginners. Courtesy and responsibility must guide your behavior to avoid dangerous situations that could lead to accidents.
- Pay attention to other users of the water, even if they do not have priority in your area (they may underestimate your speed and danger zone). Never practice near children or beginners, as their reactions may be unpredictable. Your liability would be fully engaged. GONG SUP provides all necessary information to warn you of risks and explain recommended practice conditions. Ignoring these guidelines puts you, others, and the GONG SUP brand image at risk.
- Be aware of water depth. The presence of a foil extending several dozen centimeters below your board is a new factor for many riders, even experienced ones. Damage caused by contact with the seabed is not covered by warranty.
- Maintain and regularly check your equipment, and do not make any technical modifications other than those provided by GONG-GALAXY products and solutions. Never sharpen trailing edges, as they could become dangerous for you and cut the leash, preventing it from retaining the board.
It is strongly recommended to begin foiling in a structured learning environment, within an accredited club or school, and to read all our articles on the GONG forum. This will help you achieve sufficient autonomy and a clear understanding of the challenges involved in foiling.
