Pro Team Series Aramid X Wings technology

The Pro Team Series Aramid X Wings are designed to deliver maximum connection between the rider and the wing. Their Aramid leading edge and central strut form a lightweight, stiff structure that remains extremely stable under load. This structure is paired with a Code 95 canopy, an extremely stiff, virtually stretch-free woven fabric that precisely maintains the profile as speed and pressure increase.

This combination takes performance to another level: the shape stays locked-in, rider inputs are transmitted instantly, and every impulse can be converted into pumping, acceleration, pop or a change of direction. While the Team Series Aramid retains the progressive response of Triple Ripstop, the Aramid X prioritizes a much more direct and responsive feel.

This technology comes directly from the development of our competition wings. Shapes, materials, fiber orientations and assembly methods are developed together by our R&D team, engineers and Team riders to create a coherent construction in which the inflatable structure and canopy work as one.

Aramid: a structure built for direct power transfer

The leading edge and central strut are made from 85 g/m² Aramid. This structure combines low weight with excellent dimensional stability to precisely maintain the wing's geometry under load.

Every pumping impulse is transferred directly to the wing, the profile remains stable during acceleration, and changes in direction produce an immediate response. The wing feels lively, precise and perfectly connected to the rider, especially as speed increases or when loading up for a jump.

Aramid forms the wing's high-performance skeleton, allowing the shape to maintain the geometry defined by our designers even under heavy loads.

Code 95: keeping the canopy locked-in

The fundamental difference between an Aramid and an Aramid X lies in the canopy.

The Pro Team Series Aramid X Wings use Code 95, an extremely stiff, durable and virtually stretch-free fabric. Unlike conventional canopy materials that adapt more readily to changes in load, Code 95 significantly limits changes in canopy shape. The profile, trailing edge tension and overall geometry remain exceptionally stable as the wing accelerates.

This stability creates an immediately noticeable feeling: power is delivered directly, pumping response is instant, and handling becomes extremely precise. When loading up the wing before a jump or accelerating hard, very little of your input is absorbed by the canopy.

Code 95 also offers exceptional resistance to stretching. The canopy maintains its tension and handling characteristics over time, helping preserve the wing's performance session after session.

A complete structure working as one

On an Aramid X, performance doesn't come from the leading edge or canopy alone. It comes from combining a highly stable Aramid structure with an extremely low-stretch Code 95 canopy.

When the wing is loaded, the inflatable structure maintains its arc and the strut holds its orientation, while the canopy precisely retains its profile. Both work together to transfer loads with minimal energy loss.

This structural consistency gives the Aramid X its distinctive character: an extremely direct feel, exceptional responsiveness and pinpoint precision during pumping, acceleration, jumps and changes of direction.

Fiber architecture designed around the shape

Aramid's performance also depends on fiber orientation. The fibers are positioned according to the directions in which the leading edge and strut need to resist loads.

The goal isn't to make the entire structure uniformly stiff. We determine precisely where it needs to remain locked-in and how it should behave under load, controlling twist, strut behavior and load transfer.

Each panel therefore contributes directly to the wing's final handling characteristics. The material isn't simply applied to an existing shape: its construction is an integral part of the design.

Geometry that makes the most of this stiffness

The stability of the Aramid X construction allows precise control over the diameters of the leading edge and strut, their segmentation and how their geometry changes from one section to another.

On the strut, the section shapes, progressively decreasing diameter, rear cone and connection to the leading edge determine how loads are transferred to the boom and canopy.

This structural control allows the wing to maintain a clean profile, respond extremely quickly and deliver highly direct pumping performance as loads increase.

Targeted reinforcements where they matter

A high-performance wing concentrates significant loads in specific areas: the leading edge-to-strut connection, boom attachments, tips, structural seams and anchor points.

We reinforce only the areas that need it, preserving the efficiency of the Aramid construction.

Seams feature Insigna reinforcements, the tips are protected by 1680D Nylon against abrasion, and Kevlar reinforcements are positioned beneath the boom attachments to withstand repeated loads and protect the structure.

This approach places material exactly where it improves durability, without compromising weight, responsiveness or the intended handling characteristics.

Specialized assembly developed and tested by GONG

Aramid's properties require specific expertise in assembly. A very stiff material transfers greater loads to seams and joints, meaning their construction must be treated as an integral part of the structure.

We tested different assembly solutions using tensile testing machines to identify the most reliable configurations, then developed our own methods to ensure long-term performance. These solutions are subsequently put to the test by our Pro Team riders, who subject the wings to exceptionally high loads on the water.

The industrial precision of panel cutting and positioning is combined with the manual craftsmanship required for complex areas. This allows our production facilities to consistently reproduce the tensions, fiber orientations and geometries defined by our R&D team.

From 3D design to the finished wing

Every structural element is first designed in 3D: diameter, segmentation, curvature, profile, panel orientation and tension distribution.

These shapes are then flattened into patterns and digitally cut. The orientation of each component is essential in an Aramid structure, as it directly influences stretch control and behavior under load.

During assembly, the panels are precisely positioned to recreate the digitally designed volume. Seams, joints and reinforcements are produced using specific procedures tailored to each area.

This continuity between digital design and production makes Aramid an active part of the shape, rather than simply a premium material added to an existing wing.

Pro Team Series technology

The Pro Team Series Wings are designed for riders who demand maximum precision, responsiveness and direct feedback.

The Aramid X perfectly embodies this philosophy: a highly stable Aramid structure combined with an extremely stiff Code 95 canopy to maintain the shape and instantly transmit rider inputs.

Compared to a Team Series Aramid, the feel is more direct, more responsive and more demanding, but also capable of delivering greater power per square meter and highly consistent performance over time.

The result is a construction designed for riders who want to make every impulse count: sharp pumping response, instant acceleration, explosive pop and ultra-precise handling, from the first run to the most committed maneuvers.
