Sitting on your board in flight is a very fun trick to do. No need to have a huge level to attempt this move, you just need to master a normal flight.

To get seated on your board, start by picking up some speed. Then, you will put a slight boost in your board so that the foil rises. Just be careful not to stall by going too high. Once you are high on your foil, take your back foot off and move it off the board. Your front foot remains in the foot strap. As soon as your foot is in the air, you can drop your buttocks first on the board. However, try not to let yourself fall too abruptly. In which case you will quickly understand why the relief at the start of the move is so important. If you are not high enough, you will dive nose first. Now that you are seated, you should straighten your free leg to avoid contact with the water and enjoy the sensation. The front leg remains on the board and in the strap. You can remove it if you feel like it 😉 But leaving the front foot in the strap will give you more control.

In this position, the piloting of the wing is normal. But on large surfaces you should put the wing at around 45 ° to prevent the tip from touching the water and gain lift while reducing speed to ride with confort.

Once you feel like you made the most of your seated ride, you will have to get up. To do this, you must use your rear leg as counter weight to balance you back on the board. Use your front leg as well, pushing up on it to stand up. And obviously use the wing to lift yourself up. After that, you can pick up speed and go for another move. There you have it, now you know how to ride on your buttocks 😉 !
