The young Brazilian turned heads with his Steez Carbon Pro!
Just two days after reaching the final of the U-16 Kite-Surf World Championship with the strapless Catch HDCC, our team rider strapped into his twintip and delivered the perfect run in the Freestyle event!
Kitesurfer: Pedro Alexandre, GONG team rider, carried in triumph after the Freestyle final.
A landmark victory!
In a highly competitive category featuring the stars of tomorrow, the young Brazilian showed great maturity in managing his heats and a level of commitment that promises more achievements to come. Equipped with his Vertigo Perf Series, his go-to gear for practicing tricks back home in Brazil, Pedro flawlessly transferred his training to competition during this prestigious event that brought together the best young riders in Tarifa.
Pedro’s reaction as he came out of the water:
“It's a dream come true. I trained hard to win this title. The competition was incredible, the competitors had a high level of freestyle. I just have to thank God, my family, Gong, and everyone who helped me get here. Tarifa is an incredible place where I won my World Championship title and many more to come. Thank you.” Pedro.
This victory is doubly satisfying for us because it highlights the qualities of a range that is claiming titles and podiums at the highest level, whether it’s the Elips, with which Airton achieved top scores and a final at the Cape Verde event, or this week with the Ayto and Vertigo that Pedro placed on the podiums in Tarifa. These results are the reward for our team’s passionate yet massive development work, whose latest creations include the Unik and the Strutless Aramid, kites that make ultimate performance and pure enjoyment on the water come together.
Congratulations to Pedro, all our team riders, and the GONG staff who contribute to these successes!
See you for the next stop of the season: the Surf-Kite event in Morocco, October 8–12.
