L’Ours re-launching Board Production here in France!!!
“Hello,
I am re-launching Board Production here in France.
I had ceased making Boards in 2011 due to a lack of time. I adore Shaping on my Computer, which in fact takes up so much of my time, and being in the Factories and the formation of our BackShapers. It’s an intellectual job that is passionate.
But the direct physical bond with the shape also gives me an enormous amount of pleasure. Creating with my eyes and my hands.
Our Foil Production here in France is functioning superbly. We’ve arrived at a level of producing incredibly high quality materials with a Sales rhythm that equals our capacity to Produce a Foil a day.
We’re moving into a new phase in a few months that will consist of producing Foils even more technological in France, while the Entry Foil Line will be Produced in China. (public pricing at 399€ kite, surf ,wind instead of the 999€ that they are now, in which we will discuss further in a subject that is dedicated to it.)
This future Production approach will not be so time consuming of human work. We will hence have more time to get the ball rolling the next phase of the GONG rocket : making high quality Boards in France.
What I love about the this here GONG business is that every time we have a growth spurt it gives me the opportunity to refocus on our Fundamentals. – To be capable of a large sub-contracted base, between 20 and 30 sub-contractors, that allow us do achieve large volume which in turn allows us to hire more. – Having lots of people here with me in the Office has allowed and helped me to create hundreds of new shapes : we will have 350 Models in the new Line in 2018!! Imagine the time that this takes! Alone it would be impossible, with 12 of us it’s do-able. – Having more people int he Workshop has allowed me to do as I please without having to question it. And what’s the Goal win this life ; to do what it is we love!
My time here at work is re-partitioned as such : -1/3 of my time is creating the products. – 1/3 of my time is testing the products. – 1/3 of my time is managing a business. – 1/3 of my time is listening to my Clients and Friends. I often have the impression that I am living a balanced life within the Chaos, and that’s just how I like it.
