SESSION : alone tonight !!!
L’Ours is the GONG shaper, so he needs to test the gear in the water everyday to improve everything… But during the winter, sessions are done alone mostly.
No worries, he tells:
“I am used to play alone. It is a great chance to feel new sensations and let shape express themselves because you do exactly what you have to do. No pressure, no fight to catch a wave. It is really interesting and each time i find new ideas like that.
But, we don’t show a lot of these sessions on the website because photos made alone are boring.
Anyway, this one was special. It was late when I came to the beach and I saw that wave far away. Some strokes later, I was on a perfect peak with two crossing swells. It was unic, the waves were soooo loooong, regaining power non stop. I was stocked.
I had some really long waves, in California for example, but that ones were some of the most funny. After each point, they were a new break rolling on slabs. Each one was so particular. It was a really special feeling to be outside alone, with some big backwash on the waves sometime.
I surfed during hours each one of these waves, alone, under the rain, with my lifevest and my camera…
I was really tired when the night came so I decided to paddle back to the beach, wishing to meet my friend the dolphin. But the surprise was not the dolphin but a perfect shape wave, just in front of my car, and I got it during a long long time.
