The speed of the water flow on a high aspect front wing allows you to maintain lift even when a large part of a tip comes out of the water! This is a huge difference to more moderate aspect wings which need a more constant support. You can free part of the front wing without losing your lift, or just for a sec before recovering instantly. Malo puts this feature to good use in his radical angles up and down the wave!
