Our team rider Lou Thouin won the Freestyle and came second of the Race during the French event bringing together the world junior elite!
The competition took place this weekend at Saint-Pierre-La-Mer, in the south of France. Qualified on the basis of performances submitted to judges by video, 15 young guns competed in wing foiling. Among them, Lou Thouin, 15 years old, was ultra motivated despite rather light conditions. Training hard all season, he was pumped up for the event. A commitment to training that bore fruit during this event that brought together the future of both wing foiling and kitesurfing.

Overmotivated with the world tour as his objective, Lou debriefs his weekend:
“I’m super happy to finish 1st in Freestyle and second in Race in Saint-Pierre-la-Mer. The conditions were very light. For the Races the offshore wind oscillated around 13 knots. I felt quite comfortable though we had rather technical courses to deal with, a lot of upwind and beam reaching sections. The Ypra-S M allowed me to do well on these sections. For the stab I chose the very fast Veloce 36 which balances everything very well on these courses. I was powered for the 11 rounds of the Race by a Droid UPE 5.5m2 which offers awesome torque and which allows you to go full tilt. In Freestyle, the wind was in the same range but completely onshore. I played to my strengths. I systematically performed the moves I consolidated in training. The experience was super enriching and this result encourages me to train even more to access the Wing Foil World Tour.”
