NEWS: SURPRISE VISIT TO THE GONG SPACE CENTER!

Our loyal ambassador, Warrick Smith, was treated to a very special day for his 50th birthday! His wife, Lucy, surprised him with a flight from their hometown near the Bay of Lübeck in Germany to a surprise destination… the GONG Space Center!!!

The GONG staff and Lucy were in cahoots to organize the most amazing day for him. A guided tour of the Space Center, a special moment at The Slab with the GONG staff. He even had a slice of Cheesecake with Jaime Rodriguez doing his best imitation of Marilyn Monroe’s birthday song. And the best gift of all… a long conversation with L’Ours himself. For this occasion, the team had prepared a custom quiver for him to fully enjoy his time on the water during his stay in the region.

How did you react when you realized the ruse?

I knew I was going to have a great surprise, and I was hoping it would be GONG, but I didn’t want to say it out loud. As an ambassador, it’s amazing to be here and discover the generosity of the brand and see how Patrice’s dream has materialized in this beautiful space… it’s very inspiring. And the staff is just incredible. 👍

What did you think of The Slab restaurant?

Everything here comes from nature, everything is fresh, no frills, and full of lovely details. The quality and care put into the food exemplify the overall approach of the Space Center.

And the gear, are you going to be able to get out on the water during your stay?

Yes, the staff has lent me some gear to have fun this week… I can’t wait to taste the French saltwater because at my age, I tend to be in the water more often than on the water… 😂!
