Malo Guénolé becomes a full-time team rider for GONG… and more!
The reigning wing foiling world champion in Surf-Freestyle has just graduated from high school with class honors! He brilliantly managed the feat of combining a sporting career and the everyday life of a high school student, despite conflicting agendas that largely penalized him (zeroes for missed classes and the impossibility of doing the wave comp in Cape Verde as he had to pass an important exam).
The entire GONG team is very proud of its young prodigy, who did an amazing job in coping with both his high school student obligations and the challenge of being a top athlete. A tough double life to lead with physical coaching before class hours, training sessions as soon as his schedule allowed him, long trips to participate in the GWA events and the preparation of his school exams.
Against the odds, without any specific help from his high school, Malo showed what he was made of by becoming world champion in wing foiling at only 17 years of age without compromising on his academic duties!

Driving force of our team for many years and an active member pretty much since the first day he put his feet on a surfboard, Malo will naturally extend his trajectory at GONG, as a team rider with the objective of sending stronger than ever, and by growing professionally alongside all the talents that make up our staff.
Now a graduate, he has chosen to devote himself fully to his passion and to competition.
More than ever, our teams will be able to count on Malo, who will be fully available to improve the quality of our products and create exciting content.
Huge congratulations on his recent graduation, welcome to the team and happy birthday Malo (two days late 😉)!
