Our team riders Leco Salazar and Moritz Mauch shine at the LongSUP World Championships with their NFA FSP Pro production models!
The Grand Canaria SUP Open opened this Tuesday, November 21 in Las Palmas with the men’s LongSUP competition. In the heat draw, two of our team riders were lined up with their NFA FSP Pro longboards. In top form and with a lot of ambition for this event, our team riders convincingly reached the quarter-finals where they were facing against each other during the second day of competition. Moritz tells us about this day:
“Today we finished the APP Worldtour Longboard Event. After yesterday’s first day of competition with some great 2m waves and side offshore wind. Today we arrived at the beach with small but still fun waves at La Cicer, after some waiting for the tide to improve a little bit. We went into the Quarterfinals for 25 minute heats with the 2 best waves scoring. I chose to go with the 9´0 NFA which felt really nice in the smaller waves, with great paddle power and quick entry into the waves. I was against my team mate and current Longboard SUP World Champion Leco Salazar. He was using the NFA 9´0 XS. After several chest high sets that Leco and myself were able to surf all the way to the beach with some nice turns, carves and hang fives on our NFA, Leco managed to pass into the semifinals once again proving why he is the World Champion.”

Leco started his final in his signature punchy style with powerful, fluid and perfectly executed maneuvers. Achieving several excellent scores but unfortunately losing by a tiny difference of 0.14pt against Taka Inoue who becomes the new 2023 SUP Longboard World Champion.
A solid performance from our riders who we congratulate for their results. Besides, they both highlighted the incredible versatility of the NFA. The flagship model of our longSUP range, both accessible to beginners and capable of winning world titles.
Today the competition goes on in the Canaries with the SUP Waves discipline (ShortSUP category), so stay tuned for more updates from our team riders.
