NEWS: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S RIGHTS DAY

March 8 is a day of gathering and awareness around the world for women’s rights.

On this occasion, GONG wishes to be an extra voice for this much needed day. A support that we naturally hold on to all year long with equal rights within our work environment and externally, a fair and respectful representation of women in the board sports that we develop and on which we communicate.

Equal opportunities

The jobs at GONG are open to everyone. This is how we built a largely feminized workforce in all our departments. Logistics, workshop, R&D, production, marketing, communication, technical advice, customer support, administration, each of these departments welcomes women and often in key positions. And this trend is naturally strengthening year after year. A trend that also applies to our factories which are close to parity.

We have always had a gender blind policy for recruitments, developments and remuneration. A basic policy which is unfortunately not yet the norm in all companies where moreover, positions of responsibility are often reserved for men. None of this at GONG, where a woman, Diane, has had the leading role in the top management for the past two years alongside the boss and shaper of our brand. Diane entered GONG as an intern 6 years ago… We also recently appointed Joséphine as manager of the key department of communication and marketing. These positions reward their professional skills and human qualities. A thought for Ysoline who was the first woman at GONG, still in office with rigor in the job which is matched only by her good vibes.

There is no gender rule and all developments are possible. Jeanne, for example, wished to join the workshop to carry out a more manual activity after having worked on customer support in the offices. As expected, so now does an excellent job in her new position as do Laury, Marine, Marion, Diane G., Diane T., Claire, Clothilde, Julie, Alicia, Sterenn, Morgane, Clara, Valérie, Elise, Annabelle, Ambre, Julie, Pauline, Andrea, Joséphine and Ysoline in their respective positions, and as did all those who have participated in the GONG adventure over the years.

A same passion

Today we advocate for a respectful image of women in boardsports where they are often highlighted for their physique. Our goal is to broadcast a fair image of the passionate women athletes who share the line-up with the men. We want to highlight their talent as we do with our male team riders. Passion and professionalism are the basis of our collaborations with Evelin, Kim, Melissa, Diane, Lilou or Noemi. They produce high-quality content that puts only one thing forward: passion for the ocean and our sports.
