Leco and Moritz qualified this Sunday for the semi-finals in the ShortSUP category!
Our team riders were once again facing each other in a quarter-final where they were joined by Juan De Los Reyes. In conditions which took time to settle in, Leco and Moritz managed to take the first two qualifying spots for the semi-final. Moritz tells us about this day.

“After a few Lay Days waiting for the promising swell on Sunday, we started the day with an early call at 6.45AM. Not much action during all the morning, completely flat and raining. After many calls and waiting for the tide to drop in the afternoon we finally started competing with 40 minutes of heats for the inconsistent set waves. In my quarterfinal heat it was Leco Salazar, Juan de los Reyes and myself out on the water, the heat started fast with everyone catching waves in the opening exchange. I was riding the Karmen 6´10 which was the perfect option for the mid size swell in the head to overhead range. At the end of the heat Leco and myself advanced into the semifinals.”
Unfortunately, the conditions did not allow them to run the semi-finals where Leco and Moritz will once again be in the same heat, this time alongside the new LongSUP world champion and the European SUP surf champion. There are two days left in the waiting period to crown a champion.
