NEWS: ADVISED BY A PASSIONATE TEAM!

Behind each email, online chat and telephone call that help you to choose your new GONG gear, there is a passionate bunch of people sharing expert know-how!

Our team of technical advisers helps you online from Monday to Friday to choose gear that they know inside out. And for good reason ! 😉 When they are not at the GONG Space Center to help you out with a new gear choice, they are on the water in the very varied conditions that we enjoy in our region. Winging, SUP, kitesurfing, surfing and all their foil variations hold no secrets for them. Beyond their passion, they have in common the desire to constantly broaden their knowledge of board sports and to share it. In this article we present their specialties on the water and the paths that allow them to provide you with expert advice.

Our technical advisers: Aymeric, Jules, Kenny, Cyril, Thomas, Marion, Gabriel and Anthony.

Marion

A die hard fan of windsurfing and competitions, in which she has a strong track record, being several times on the podium of the French championships in slalom and speed events, but also ranked in the top 10 on the PWA world tour and she even has a spanish championship title under her belt. The competition will lead her to ride everywhere in France, lake of Serre Ponçon, La Torche, Gruissan, Almanarre or Wissant to name just a few. But also all over the globe, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, New Zealand, Denmark or Spain. A real asset for this boardsport enthusiast who will be able to advise you in fluent English and Spanish, and understand perfectly the conditions of your home spot. She’s also a passionate kitesurfer and kite foiler. She discovered wing foiling in its very early days and didn’t stop ever since.

Aymeric

years, he left for Mexico, with the goal of exploring new spots and surfing every day for a year. Then headed to Australia to teach surfing for another year. After a quick stop through Bali where he had the famous left of Uluwatu almost for himself during covid, he decided to come home to France and settle next to GONG’s headquarters. All his surf trips have allowed him to master several languages. He is also a big fan of kiting and surf foiling, it is with pleasure that he will advise you in English, Spanish or Italian.

Cyril

Practicing kitesurfing since the early days of the sport, he has taught it for more than ten years on the most beautiful spots of the planet, Philippines, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Tarifa, Colombia and Portugal. He completed his seasons as a kitesurf instructor with kite and surf trips to every corner of the world, Indo, Tunisia, Morocco,… Native of La Baule, the desire to return to his home base was too strong, this is how he joined GONG a few years back. Kitesurfing in all its forms has no secrets for him, he will advise you in his unique easy-going way, but with the best pedagogy in the world and expert eye.

Jules

Winging, kitesurfing, kite foiling, surf, surf foiling, SUP, bodyboard, you’d better ask him what boardsport he does not practice! Tahiti, Rangiroa, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Crete, California, Portugal, Australia, are some of the beautiful destinations on which he could live a waterman’s dream life. After running a surf shop in France for a few years, he joined the team to bring all his expertise.

Gabriel

Kitesurfing for almost as long as the sport exists, he has witnessed all its evolutions, starting with 2 lines C-shapes, the first bow kites and every hybrid concept brought on the market. After spending years working in the luxury hotel industry, he decided to drop everything to open a kite school in Tarifa, most certainly the Mecca of wind sports in Europe. But the wind conditions there are often very extreme for the students, so the key word for him has always been safety and pedagogy above all. Handyman and jack of all trades, he shaped and built his own kite and wing boards, his own foils too! Shapes and construction have no secrets for him. You’re up for a long conversation with him if you open that door! 😉

Kitesurfer: Gabriel, staff GONG with a Strutless kite and a Fatal FSP 2X.

Thomas

Passionate about kiting, he practices this discipline in all its forms, freestyle, big air, kite foiling and strapless surfing. French UNSS kitesurfing champion in 2015, he also participated in the Junior World Championships on several occasions. But it is also a jack of all trades, surfing, surf foiling and of course the wing foiling. If you want to send big, ask for Thomas!

Kenny

A real paddle sports enthusiast, he practices all or almost all of them as an instructor: surfski, canoe, va’a and OC, and of course Stand Up Paddle. The other board sports are not left out with surfing, kiteboarding and winging. A versatile practice that perfectly matches the GONG spirit, being in the water whatever the conditions. Installed in Reunion island, then in the south of France, he continued his way up north to settle in our team.

Anthony

Passionate as a kid about everything that has a sail, he started as an instructor in a nautical base in Brittany, later as base manager and regional trainer. His training in SUP, surfing, surf foiling and especially wing foiling, make him a very well rounded rider. He very quickly became passionate about everything that has a foil, which today gives him excellent technical knowledge in the field. Living in Polynesia and the south of France for a while, he moved back to Brittany where he has the strongest roots.
