MOVIE: MALO GUÉNOLÉ, A UNIQUE TRAJECTORY

Malo Guénolé’s story is one of a kind. A story of a board sports enthusiast. From his very first moments on a board at only a few months old, to his wing foiling world title at only 17 years old, Malo’s passion just kept growing.

Since his youngest age, Malo has been living for surfing. Going under the whitewater in his father’s arms at 8 months old; then the first SUP sessions between his father’s legs; then surfing at 2 and a half years old… Together, they spent time on all kinds of board sports and constantly pushed their limits.

As he grew up, Malo took his own path, proving his worth in shortboarding as well as in longboarding. Then came the foils and a few years later, the beginnings of wing foiling: the total symbiosis between Malo and these new tools of expression.

With a foil under his feet and sometimes a wing in his hand, Malo expresses himself fully, and always with a smile. After working on his turns, going higher and higher and rotating in all directions for months on end, Malo decides to compete in 2021. Mainly to challenge himself.

After a 7th place in the 2021 general ranking, the Pornichétin, who sails as much as he possibly can, just because he likes it, has perfected his maneuvers, improved his lines and developed his own style, session after session.

One and a half year after his first wing foiling competitions, Malo realized his wildest dream in mid-November in Taiba (Brazil) by being crowned Senior Surf-Freestyle Wing Foiling World Champion at the age of 17 after a year full of twists and turns, drama and emotions.

From his beginnings on his home spot in Pornichet to the waves of Taiba which crowned him, Malo has had an extraordinary journey. Inspiring! And yet, Malo is still humble and simple. He is as happy when he meets up with friends in competition to share their common passion as when he surfs at home.
