Ingrid Ulrich, GONG Ambassador, is an outstanding and resilient adventurer. With a past full of obstacles, she proves to us through her various explorations in SUP, that when there’s a will, there’s a way. She conquered cancer, since then she has made it her mission to make her dreams come true, to go on an adventure, to live her life the way she wants and to enjoy it to the fullest!
In June 2018, this Mother of two children embarked on an incredible expedition in SUP, in total autonomy, in the cold regions of Greenland. She travelled about 350 km on her Couine Marie in 21 days towards the Far North. A childhood dream that she had to make come true, for her, but also to make people want to make their dreams come true, even the craziest ones.
In March 2018, this is what Ingrid told us a few months before her departure:
“Realizing your dreams allows you to flourish. You can’t blossom in life only through frustrations, and unfulfilled things that remain in the back of your mind as something you would have liked to do. You must always go towards what you love… Go for a moment in your life or as much as possible towards the path of your dreams. We all have dreams, big or small, on the other side of the world or at the end of the street, but very often we create barriers and we push back to later. And one day, life catches up with you, an illness, an accident, old age, and you realize that you have done nothing but “subway, work, sleep” and that’s not life!
My greatest wish is to share my adventures, my experience, with as many people as possible, novices, beginners or the simply curious. I want to offer a part of my journey, to take you with me through my photos and my stories, to show you that all dreams are possible; that it is always possible to trace one’s own path, even alone, without any other limit than the one of our will… And that everyone, at his own level, is able to surpass himself and to realize his own story. ”
A beautiful adventure that she tells today in this book, which she has illustrated with photos that show us these landscapes, both beautiful and dangerous. At GONG, we have always had at heart to accompany her in her adventures, and this since the beginning. This is why today, we offer* a copy of this book on our biggest orders that are coming.
One of her many missions is to help women affected by this disease to fight it and to make their dreams come true. To this end, all profits from the sale of the book will be donated to the association “Au-delà de l’océan” (“Beyond the ocean”).
