HOW TO : catch a wave on SUP !!!

How to catch waves on a SUP :
1/ Analyze the spot and recognize the peak, meaning the place where the wave begins to unfurl. Be aware of the currents and winds direction.
2/ One you’ve passed the bar (impact zone) post yourself in the line-up which will be in function with the length and angle of your wind up, meaning the space that you been to paddle and take off.
3/ Determine the number of strokes needed to go from your waiting position to the perfect 90° take off angle of the swell.
Key Points :
– marry your Take-Off with your natural Row.
– understand that the Row practically disappears with acquired speed.
– your wind up should be a consistent acceleration or you double your Row!!
Pointers :
– more than 5 paddle sweeps = poor positioning.
– up to your knees in foam = poor positioning.
Remember :
– protect others by respecting the rules of Surfing and good sense.
– breath and look to the horizon.
