To understand the huge potential of the Plus, you have to go back a few seasons. Wing foiling is of all boardsports, the one that has evolved the fastest. Within just a few years there has been a radical evolution of the equipment. GONG being one of the few pioneering brands.

The first year wing foiling came on to the scene for the general public, a single GONG wing (the Original) covered all the needs that boiled down to discovering this sport. We immediately launched a complete range of wings. As the sport has been defined, the programs have become more specialized and our range has both expanded and focused to cover the most advanced practices. This development produced the world’s first range of wings and the widest on the market to date. A winning bet that represents the practices and styles of navigation that we like.

In this range, the Plus remains the cornerstone. It is the do-it-all wing that has been inspired season after season by the specific developments of each of our more specialized wings. The progress made in each specific program has thus fueled the development of our wing intended for the greatest versatility.

So you can not only do everything with a Plus, but do it at a very high level and in all conditions.

On the Plus side

Part of our beginners packs, the Plus is sometimes mistakenly assimilated as an initiation wing only. What you have to understand is that we have included it in the packs because it is by far the most versatile wing! It’s up to you to define the program with the Plus.

The Plus is perfect for a beginner looking for ease and power in low range or an experienced wing foiler who wants a high performance but tolerant wing in tricky conditions, be it light or gusty wind. This wing has for instance been used in some races by Malo to be crowned junior Surf-Slalom World Champion. Its power allows you to get out of the water when the wind is light and its tolerance is appreciable in gusty conditions.

New 2023 profiles

In 2023, all our wings have made a new leap in performance with reviewed shapes and more dynamic profiles. The best example being the Neutra, which allowed Malo to become world champion in Surf-Freestyle! A technical wing like the Neutra, nervous and reactive, will not suit all wing foilers who might prefer a wing like the Plus.

The Plus 2023 has been completely redesigned. Lighter, which offers a great stability advantage in freefly and at the beginning when you are not flying yet. A profile tension that is more tolerant than the other models in the range, coupled with the slight twist at the end of the thinner tips, allows it to absorb gusts more easily. This makes excess power disappear without creating turbulence!

Another key feature of the Plus is its deeper profile, giving you power on demand. Ultra important for a beginner who needs to take off without a perfect technical mastery and who needs to use the smallest wing possible for comfort. For someone more experienced, the power will also help to get off the ground easily without killing your arms pumping after each jump.
