GEAR: THE SHORTSUP FOR ALL!

Among all the programs in our SUP range, the one of the Karmen probably offers the most fun: a shortboard shape for ripping with the comfort of a SUP board! Moving around in the line-up goes without stress with a shortboard type of SUP that allows for powerful rollers, snaps and cutbacks that are no longer reserved for an elite.

The development of the Karmen is guided by a simple idea: to give real access to the sensations of shortSUP to as many people as possible. An idea followed to the letter by L’Ours in the design of the shape and the reason why the Karmen is offered in a large number of sizes (6’10, 7’3, 7’8, 7’11, 8’4 , 8’9, 9’2 and 9’10) to satisfy all SUPers. At the heart of this range, sizes 7’8 and 7’11 are particularly popular with medium-sized SUPers who already have SUP experience to radicalize their surf turns. Switching to Karmen boosts their level in wave riding. The Karmen is easy to adapt to and the turns are radicalized from the first take-off. The vision of the sport quickly takes on a new dimension on a shortSUP! It’s amazing.

To achieve these performances, the shape of the Karmen has been designed to support the SUPer’s position: the bullet nose and the hull in single concave (under the paddling position) then double concave (between the feet in surf position) ending in V-shape (under the rear foot).

The shape of this nose allows to move the useful volume towards the center by reducing the volume at the ends (nose and tail). This new distribution of the useful volume results in a more fluid surfing with less inertia at the extremities. Stability is better than with a nose point, so you can choose the right volume without fear of repeated falls as soon as the water gets rough. Another advantage of this round nose is that it does not make rowing mistakes at the take-off, it does not throw the board to the side when it pearls, so this crucial phase is less technical. It’s a good balance between the nose point of an Alley Pro and the wide square nose of a Mob.

As the Karmen can satisfy both a SUPer in search of evolution and an experienced SUPer in search of comfort, it is offered in two different technologies:

• FSP Pro construction for the best possible dynamism. The full carbon sandwich on both sides and the rails provides phenomenal resistance to bending. Strong, light and resolutely top of the range.
• FSP 2X construction for the best weight / strength / performance compromise on the market at a price that does not suffer from any competition thanks to our direct sales model.
