GEAR : THE HIGH POTENTIAL OF THE X-OVER !

The X-Over foil offers accessibility to beginner foilers and enormous potential to the most experienced ones.
The secret to this versatility is simple: a low ratio that is maneuverable, fast and forgiving. A cocktail of qualities that boost confidence and therefore performance.

What the L’Ours has designed with the X-Over is a low ratio without a performance ceiling. By drastically reducing the thickness, we obtain excellent glide and speed. But by keeping the surface, you get a foil that flies very easily and with control.
If this foil is called X-Over, (pronounced Cross-Over), it is simply because this foil is very versatile. It adapts to all foiling practices, be it wing, surf, SUP or kite foiling.
The shape of this range is all about the surface area. This is its big strong point: a large downforce that allows you to fly very early on compact and therefore reactive wings.
The profile is quite thin (in proportion to the large chord, it is even very thin) but the maximum thickness is advanced in order to take off early and easily, then to accelerate. It is necessary for a lot of efficiency at low speed, and to saturate as late as possible in top speed. Seen from the front, the X-Over is almost flat to get the most performance possible. The user of these wings will be able to manage their height and hook back if necessary.
The fitting which allows the connection of the stab to the fuselage is longer than on the other models. The stab is further away from the Front Wing. This increase in the wheelbase gives longitudinal stability to the X-Over foil and facilitates trim management to ensure your first flights and then work on your first maneuvers.
The winglets at 90° to the profile are pronounced to stabilize the foil in direction (yaw), and limit steering and crabbing. The foil will naturally be placed in the axis for maximum efficiency and to facilitate learning.
Several foil sizes adapt to different sizes and different speeds:
- In small sizes from M to L, depending on your own size, it is ideal for getting into kite foiling and surf foiling on a gentle set-up that allows you to progress crescendo.
- In large sizes from XL to XXL, depending on your own size, it is a reassuring front wing for a sporty beginner in wing foiling or surf foiling. It is particularly appreciated for its tolerance in the badly controlled beginners phases but also its speed as well as its maneuverability in the later phases with more experience.
