GEAR : SIZES MAST IN KITE FOIL !!!

Choose the size of your Mast according to your level of progress.

  GONG offers different Mast sizes for Kite Foil, from 45 to 100 cm. In general, we recommend a short Mast for beginners, and a long Mast for the more experienced.

Aluminium Masts

Perfect to start and progress, it is also the most economical option to start Foiling. An Aluminium Mast will require more maintenance, but the Allvator Foil is completely dismountable, so it is easy to store, transport and maintain. Aluminium is also very strong and is not afraid of shocks.

Carbon Masts

Choosing a Carbon Mast offers several advantages. The first objective is to obtain rigidity combined with more dynamism and precision. As Carbon is a light material, the weight of the assembly is reduced, making it easier to transport. The Mast / Fuselage / Top Plate Monobloc assembly also reduces the possible play between these different parts.

Kitefoil

The 45 cm Mast is for schools only. It will save you all the hassle of handling the Foil, especially the positioning at the waterstart. Your legs will have the strength to counter the lever of such a small Mast. On the other hand, you won’t really be able to fly with it. It is therefore to be reserved for the first hour of practice, therefore for schools.

The 65 cm Mast will allow you to start without being afraid and to make your first hours of flight. It can also be used in particular configurations, especially spots with very little background. You can also start with an 80 cm Mast.

This is the length that allows the most versatility and manoeuvrability, so it is ideal for a freestyle/ freeride program. Its greater height makes manoeuvres easier as you will limit the number of touchdowns. The 90 cm Mast allows you to increase the angle grip, and therefore a better upwind lift and more Vmax. This is the size we recommend for performance in Alu.

The 100 cm Full Carbon Monobloc Mast is the steepest possible to win it on all fronts : speed, control, precision… With an optimum weight, this foam cored Mast floats and brings you crazy dynamics. This complete range allows you to gain height, whatever your level of practice or your program.
