GEAR : FCS HI-1 quad !!!

L’Ours presents the fins FCS HI-1 quad :
GONG : Specifics of HI fins:
L’Ours : HI fins have a very handy template with a curved outline. But what characterizes them most is the mix between their large surface area and very thin profile.
It was therefore under the feet of fins very oriented maneuverability, very powerful but also very fast.
This mix is unique and will suit those who want this behavior to the extreme. In fact, the HI fins are not in the half measure.
GONG : So for which is these fins ?
L’Ours : Powerful surfers who use full projection of their lateral fins. These surfers put much angle to their board and grow strong in curves.
GONG : For what conditions ?
L’Ours : Ideally winded in waves. HI fins will allow the board to seek and rail thoroughly. It will generate a lot of speed with this great surface rail recall, on the ears (side). But this high speed, HI love it because they are fine, very fine. And once at Mach III is the outline of these fins very handy that will allow out beautiful maneuvers.
In soft waves or re-form, the difference in standard deviations is impressive.
GONG : On what boards?
L’Ours : The large surface area and depth of the side tend to keep the board flat. This is where you use the whole secret of the principle of reaction action. A powerful surfer will put these deviations in pressure and get the best. A small jig surfer will fail to keep and surfs too flat.
But this factor is strongly influenced by the width of the board and shape of the tail. Indeed, a narrow board will be much easier to put on the track and facilitate the use of these excesses. But in ideal conditions of these fins will instead use a wide board. So you should check that the combination of your board and these fins optimizes your surfing based on your power curves.
Finally, these fins will help to give the juice a bit limited to a board in soft waves. You have a rather narrow board and lack of stimulus, then HI will the booster.
GONG : What is the limit ?
L’Ours : The hold. Past a certain speed and a certain width tail, everyone will find its limit with these fins without compromise. The board will guidonner without one manages to put frankly on a rail. And the passage on the other rail is very “Rodeo”.
GONG : In conclusion :
L’Ours : HI are the fins that survoltent board in small conditions. Perfect on a shortSUP (they also limit the row effect) or a modern longboard performance to make the most of your board and your thighs winded in waves.
The performance gain is really crazy. Sélectionneurs : David Vincent et GONG Surfboards. Source : Team GONG SUP, des dérives qui boostent vos performances.
