  This Couine Marie Race has managed over the years to make its place in the Quiver of many SUPers. The reasons are simple: a shape that performs well in different registers and fits in a backpack.

 

Technology

One of the big highlights of the SUP Couine Marie 2020 range is its Welded Double Layer Drop Stitch Technology. This technology offers an incredible compromise between weight/stiffness/strength. The SUP Couine Marie Race range is also equipped with a Double PVC Stringer along the top and bottom of the Board. So you have a triple thickness stringer for maximum stiffness! The glide speed, stiffness and solidity are optimized offering excellent performance. The range consists of a 12’6 model, available in 3 widths (26”, 28” & 30”), and a 14’0 model, available in 2 widths (26” & 28”). The 2 models in 26” and 28” widths, either in 12’6 or 14’0, are for SUPers with experience in SUP, looking for a Board that is not too wide to get better rowing performance, whether in intensive training or racing. On the other hand, a new model has been added this year, the 12’6 x 30”, to offer the possibility to SUPers in progression, or even beginners, to taste this type of shape and performance without getting into the hard stuff. The 30” width allows you to keep a good stability while boosting your glide thanks to its sharpened shape.  

The shape

This thin and light Board allows you to do an intense physical training and to perform well on the Races. Moreover, you can go out on the water with friends to clear your head without spending a fortune, whether it’s for an intensive ride or a downwind. Its main asset is its very good rowing speed. This Board has real skills to allow you to line up for weekend races or to have fun in downwind. Its race-like shape has been designed to give you excellent performance. Its nose point and narrow width ensure a very good speed and allows you to pass the chop efficiently. Its thin square tail reduces drag to a minimum and allows you to keep maneuverability in the turns. As for the rigid rail, it allows a better evacuation of water through the tail. In surfing, the Board glides earlier and the rowing speed is boosted.
