A SUP board is usually a size that is not easy to handle, whether in the water or on land. The handles provide an answer and do other useful services for you. 2 ergonomic handles in the front third

These handles fulfill several missions. They are a great help in passing waves. First of all, to pass the waves when walking next to your board. It is thus easily possible to hold or even lift the board for each whitewater coming your way. Second, you can hold on to the passing of a wave when paddling on your laying down. If paddling on your knees, you could not keep your balance when the waves are too big. Worse, you could be hit in the face by the board. If you can’t paddle standing up you should paddle laying down. Too large a wave may require to do the turtle. Again the handles make your job much easier. Finally, in a cruising type practice, the handles can benefit the comfort of a passenger or simply to carry the board on land.

When you’re walking in shallow waters, they allow you to easily handle your board. On land, they allow several people to carry the SUP and handle it during transport.

A SUP is too wide to be carried under the arm. The central handle allows it to be easily carried alone during transport and launching.   Handles are also essential to avoid collisions with others.
